Paying bills from a Pot

Hi all,

Long time Monzo account holder, but only recently starting using it as my daily driver, having moved over from Starling after their Easy Saver debacle :slight_smile: . Rather pleasingly, 99% of the experience is either on-par, or much better. However, paying bills from a Pot is a little different and I wanted to get some community clarification to ensure I’m understanding things correctly.

When I pay a bills from a Pot, I understand it moves the money from the Pot to my main account just in time for the DD/SO. All fine, makes sense - but the transaction history in the Pot now just has lots of “Current Account £x.y” items; clicking into these items also gives no indication as to which bill etc. it was for. For comparison/clarity, Pot (Space) transactions are separate in the Starling app which has in the past made checking up on bill payments etc. much easier.

Assuming I’ve understood the feature correctly (and please correct me if I haven’t!) are there any ideas or suggestions around how to make these bill transactions a little easier to track?

You’re not missing anything, that’s how the current implementation works

Going back years and years people have been asking for improvements and Monzo have said they are working on it, but no sign yet. Maybe 2025 will be the year!

I agree this would be a useful feature. Does it still show you what has been paid and not in trends which might give some indication to support.
