You could always open a new account with your current bank, then do a full CASS of your old account to Monzo.
We will likely not offer this in the app again unless things change at the switching scheme side.
Unfortunately, partial switches are not covered under the same Current Account Switch Guarantee that full switches are. Additionally, we found many situations where the old bank would send out a switch message that did not include the new account information, causing direct debits to be fully cancelled (despite us sending a switch message including the new details).
In some cases, all of this caused people to be fined for non-payment of their bills (that again, weren’t covered under the switching guarantee).
Partial switches are a great idea in theory but in the real world, we found that it caused significantly more trouble for people than just manually moving them would have been.
Interesting, they flatly refused to do it for us over the phone!
That would still close the account, which I don’t want to do. I’ve sorted it anyway. Thanks though.
Ok thanks. I was told on web chat this would be coming back. In fact at first the guy I spoke to didn’t even know it was no longer available.

Yeah, the DD Mandate appeared on my Monzo account on 16th Jan so just over a week or so ago!
Well… I’m about to complete on a property in a few weeks and everything is set up and ready to go with the old bank. The idea of such large sums not reaching the places they should when they should was a bit too much right now. But I’m also very done with my old bank and ready to try out Monzo. Out with the old, in with the new and all that. It’s all sorted now.
Starling has now stopped doing partial switches
As of 22/02/2019 we no longer accept partial switches.
We’ve seen that partial switches can cause a few issues for customers payment arrangements and as these are not covered by the switch guarantee should things go wrong, the decision has been made to stop partial switches.
You’re still able to initiate a full switch in the app if you head to ‘Switch to Starling’
