I’ve been told you must have uk address

Worth noting many placeswon’t accept a PO Box as a contact address. I used to have enough problems with a BFPO one…

It was just given as an example of what can be done, there are many PO box type companies that create ‘flat xyz’ addresses instead of PO Box numbers.

Never before this was so important, with the likelihood of gbp dropping in value a lot until the end of the year, I know many people that are sending most of their savings to their banks back home, if I could keep my money in a UK bank but in EUR It would be much better

Starling offers a Euro account (a shame it’s not currently available on Monzo)

Starling bank have a euro account

Pity I don’t get offered starling account oh well we live in hope

Having a Euro account option within Monzo would be awesome. Is this something that might be considered with the Transferwise partnership? Similar setup to the likes of Revolut or Startling where by you can hold a Euro balance :+1:.

A euro account with a monzo card would be fab even if it works with transferwise in the background to work with integration with your current monzo personal account and app would be great and having the ability to transfer between the monzo UK personal account and a monzo euro account would be great Would solve a lot of issues and allow you to do more with monzo

I am a Spanish student living in the UK. I need a uk based Euro account but I just hate the look of Starling’s app. Monzo needs to keep up with it ASAP! We NEED a euro account!

I always think monzo should do that and offer it but then their logic is free cash withdrawals and card payments in the EU and it’s a UK resident based account at the min and only the USA have monzo outside of the UK I do think monzo need to add euros to their offering I always use euros I have Irish accounts and bunq a Netherlands bank and I get free cash withdrawals with bunq and I use curve card with all my accounts so avoid the charges

Yeah but for example the free cash withdrawals are irrelevant to me. My parents send me euros from spain and sometimes i don’t necessarily want to conver them to pounds immediately coz the exchange rate isnt that good at the moment or because I simply don’t need them? But i still want to be able to hold them in my account without needing another bank

Exchanging to pounds is good when the rate is close to the pound for example €1.12 to £1 is better than €1.18 to £1 but when you change to euros the bigger the gap the better off you are so the €1.18 is better

There’s a reason to hold euros and people who spend most of their life in the UK want see the benefit of having it when your biggest currency you will more likely use is euro as most people go to Europe for holidays or visit likes of Ireland Spain and France regularly I actually benefited from having euros all the time so I also agree you should have that option

have you looked at KBC Ireland?

I opened an account online from the UK using my UK address. They have a great app and full debit card facilities

Bunq is Netherlands but they offer €500 in euros debit card top up for free of any fee a month from any account and it’s available instantly and it works well I also have permanent tsb accounts in Ireland good accounts too but bunq is the one you can top up and link to transferwise
