Well I know of many other banks where I can easily hold an euro account. For example with Starling I could hold an account in pounds and one in euros and use the same card for them and it automatically detects the currency when you make a card payment and pays with the correct currency account.
That’s all I want from Monzo. I just hate the card and the app from Starling which is why I haven’t switched.
Starling said no for me and I would never like one card two currencies especially when I use my cards with The curve card
I prefer having the separate card for Euro’s. The single card for both accounts is great but it’s little things like not switching to £’s if you run out of €’s that I’m not a fan of.
I think the feature will really come into its own when they can offer $ accounts too
I think at the moment, the best offerings for a GBP/EURO account are (in my order of preference):
Monese - Separate accounts, each with their own card, but the ability to move money between the two at no cost.
Revolut - Separate accounts, but with one card, the ability to move money between accounts and set which account you wish to pay from. Again, no fees for transferring between accounts
Starling - Again separate accounts, but with one card, move money between the accounts, but comes with a 0.4% fee for transfers.
Transferwise has euro option or other currencies now direct debits on pounds and euros and numerous currencies but all on one card and I use my card with curve which doesn’t work right if you have a multi currency card
Definitely something of interest to me. I currently use Revolut for this purpose but would love for Monzo to allow the holding of Euros. Starling do it too!
I’d go with Starling’s euro account (and Revolut for the multi-currency wallet).
I have transferwise but limited use as I now use bunq for euro as they can do €500 free euro top up with credit or debit card in eurozone The EEC and the UK also ultra low fees when topping up over that amount and is super easy to use I’m using them more now since they give metal cards plant trees and offer Apple Pay and interest on all accounts
This would be an awesome addition because I feel like Monzo can do better than the competition on this!

Monzo would do well if they offered euro account in the second biggest currency zone after US Dollar in United States but I feel they aren’t in a rush to do anything just yet unless the UK broke up in to independent nations and United Ireland
January 2021, and they’ll need to convert English accounts to Groats.
