Apparently it’s an issue with Ericsson and may be affecting networks outside the UK too…

Calls and SMS should be working fine. If they are trying something usually done over data (WhatsApp or iMessage) then they might find it not working, or if they voice call through Skype, FaceTime or WhatsApp then they will have an issue.

I don’t know about texts but calls are definitely a bit intermittent - I kept getting “no voice service” alerts, and losing all signal intermittently.

Can’t explain that other than maybe just a lot of people using the network at once. It’s a data issue this one.

I cant reveal all but a brief convo with a friend who’s an engineer at O2

I assumed it was because O2 were frantically and repeatedly turning things off and on again :grin:

Although according to O2 you are correct:

Yeah I just assumed it must have been fixed by now as Im on wifi all day in the office, but realised I didn’t get a notification buying my lunch, it only popped up when I got back to the office :expressionless:

They keep saying it’s just data but I’ve lost all signal on several occasions today - currently got “Emergency Calls Only”. Good job for WiFi at work so I can carry on listening to Spotify and avoid talking to my colleagues :joy:

Same here, makes logging into anything that only allows SMS 2FA about as much use to me at the moment as a chocolate teapot. :frowning:

Must be bad to still be down. I can imagine their systems that handle calls are under high load due to it being everyone last resort.
Calls have slowly been reducing over the past few years until today :slight_smile:

Touch wood I haven’t had any serious issues with 3 or EE in the number of years I’ve been with them.


My reliable source says estimated time for all systems back is Friday, 4 pm.
