I’ve had the OLED in the draw for the past 3 months, any decent games due in the next month or two?
My switch has been switched off for months, original version. It’s basically had 3 months use.
Tempted to sell ![]()
Lego Star Wars on Tuesday ![]()
This is interesting. Although I am sure they are not finished with N64 yet! Also, will it be another hike on the switch online membership cost?!
Not directly switch related but… Anyone got a Steam Deck yet? Mine is on its way. Intrigued to see how it compares.
I was looking up a bit about them. Which one did you get? Don’t think I would use it enough but that doesn’t mean I’m not interested….
Just the 64GB basic. I could just scalp it for double the value on ebay ![]()
I’m intrigued to see if they can do something good enough to compete with the switch. Plus it potentially opens up a massive library of games… Already lined up to run through my brother in law’s collection.
I do hate the walled garden approach. If Nintendo had just been a tiny bit less obsessive about controlling everything, I wouldn’t feel perfectly happy to jump ship. That’s the thing, Nintendo has the product, sure, but zero loyalty or goodwill from me.
Yes I got it. Have played bowling mainly and a bit of tennis. I like the carnage of simultaneous play and the obstacle modes are fun. Badminton only 2 and was playing with 4 people so not tried it yet.
I got a steam deck and I’m loving it.
Did you get hold of yours?
Yes, but literally the day I set off on family holiday!!
So far, only tinkered with Stardew Valley and Elite Sniper 4, mainly to see how it performs. Stardew has issues - keeps freezing until the fan kicks in. Despite being Verified, which is annoying/surprising. Sniper runs incredibly well. And having a stupid number of controls makes it a much more pleasurable PC-like experience than I expected.
The main downside is the memory. I’m going to need a lot more micro SD cards if I use it much… Also, they really need to crack on with downloading in sleep mode or however that works. At the moment, you have to leave the whole thing on, including sound from whatever game you’ve paused - putting on standby pauses downloads.
Of course, the size means it’s not going to work for the under 10s really. Which is a major positive! Hands off.
Tempted by No Man’s Sky next.
My Switch will download whole pre-ordered games while in sleep mode. So I’m a little confused that yours doesn’t!
Oooh my bad thank you ![]()
My deck is 256 so I’m able to manage things a bit easier. With games not running, try switching proton versions in the game’s compatibility settings.
Proton GE can help get many unsupported games working too if you look into that.
I’ve been playing all sorts on my steam deck. Got through the likes of Yooka Laylee, Superhot and Monkey Island 2 on it. Currently playing through Monster Hunter and Persona 4.
It streams from my PS4 really well too.
The only reason I want a Switch is for Animal Crossing. I used to love that game on my old Nintendo DS Lite years ago and I’d love to unwind in the evening playing that game again. I just can’t justify the £300~ just for one game! I feel like that money would be better spent investing into my current PC build.
Buy it, play it for 6 months and I reckon you’d sell it for at most a £50 loss.
Brilliant. Though, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, I am starting to think they are releasing games too quickly for me!
Yeay new courses and I can play them on my new shiny OLED model
(Birthday present Switch upgrade)
More games?!
I have completed the tutorial, styled my Octoling and chosen a weapon I AM READY ![]()
Oh damn, maybe it’s time for me to get into Splatoon! Gonna download this now…
