Nintendo Switch Discussion

I’m glad they are sticking with the Legend’s style of play. And Spain/Portugal as a base land is quite fun too.

Playing Legends Arceus at the moment, and the technical shortcomings are really pronounced. Hopefully they can be significantly cleaned up for S/V, as they’re actively impacting my enjoyment of the game, in a way that they never did in Sword & Shield.

What things?

Each to their own, but the Lite is the winner for me. When I had the Original switch I only played it in handheld mode.

When I had the Lite I found it the perfect size and weight for portable play.

And when I had the OLED I just found it too big to be comfortable.

Obviously depends on what you’re looking for.

Also, the Switch holds its value incredibly well. I bought the Lite for £180 with Link to the Past and sold it two years later for the same money!!!

I also only lost £40 on the OLED after four months use.

When I see a cheap Lite I’m sure I’ll jump back in again.

I’ve only just got the OLED and I think it’s beautiful! I can’t imagine selling it :joy:

The screen is fantastic but for me the long term comfort just wasn’t great. Sitting on the sofa wasn’t too bad but in bed it was just way too heavy to hold up for too long.

Also not a fan of the joycons as they just feel a bit too loose for my liking. Lite obviously doesn’t have this issue.

But if it works for you that’s awesome.

They also last really well. My OG switch is now 5 years old, played most days, and other than some joy con drift replacements it’s been grand.

I play 99% of the time handheld.

Pick your poison. I’d never “waste” £180 odd on an Apple TV but think the Switch Lite is good value.

Others will think the opposite.

And the residuals on Nintendo games put even Apple hardware to shame! I’ve bought BOTW multiple times and sold it for either a small loss or even a profit.

Skyward Sword for £20 on Amazon right now if you’re quick. So cheap I bought it even though I have no Switch :joy:.

Sorry but to avoid scrolling up, new Pokémon game yay or nay?

My main issue with sword and shield was challenge, it was just too easy, gave up on the third gym which I didn’t even come close to losing. Is this one different? Challenging / strategic in any way?

Hmmm that seems like a way to say it isn’t challenging?

I don’t love the Pokémon world as much as others so without challenging or strategic gameplay I guess I’m out sadly, although I hear the world is great

If you are going to buy games via downloads you definitely need one. There’s enough storage for games on disks + saves and stuff, just, but I’d just buy an SD card, they are cheap

My £15 128gb one has been more than enough for me but I guess I don’t have so many games! 256 ones are only £30 though I guess. At least it’s not PlayStation storage

No me neither that’s sort of what turns me off Pokemon!

It’s good they’ve raised the challenge a bit but I’m also generally pretty strategy orientated (I was in the semi pro leagues of hearthstone for years) so I have a feeling this isn’t going to tickle my boat so to speak.

Good to know it was enjoyable for Pokémon fans though! Franchise needed a decent game

Quite excited for the No Man’s Sky port being released in Summer!

Yup my power button is very slightly recessed and it doesn’t click at all.

Maybe they’ve changed the dock coz my old old switch has a horizontal dock.

I couldn’t turn mine the other way as there isn’t much holding the switch in. Just the tiny usb connector. So it might strain it/fall out.

To absolutely no one’s surprise, Breath of the Wild 2 has been delayed to 2023.

Can’t you play local up to 4 player on animal crossing?
