Has anyone else gotten a new card recently and activated it using the (what I assume to be) NFC on your phone? Hold the card against the back of the phone - BOOM activated. So cool… or maybe i’m just too easily amused

Does it work for iPhones?

I believe it’s Android only as Apple do not allow apps to access the NFC hardware. Correct me if I’m wrong.

It didn’t work on my Android. No big deal, easy to do manually.

Correct, they do allow some access but only for NDEF formatted tags (most of the ones you find that you tap) but not for smartcard communication.

Just got a new joint account card but it didnt work for me sadly

Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool! Definitely a genius idea… Monzo is way ahead of the game with these extra touches
