Don’t call it a reboot
Back in 2022, I shared my horror movie marathon and that ordeal is back again to haunt you all.
We’re over halfway through the month of horror and I thought I’d share what I’ve been doing to celebrate…
31 Halloween films in 31 days
So basically me and my partner have picked a set of movies each (15 from me and 16 from her) which we placed in a glass pumpkin and then we pull out a ticket to decide what we’re watching that night.
[Untitled (5)]
So far we’ve had:
The Craft - 4 out of 5
Practical Magic - 3 out of 5
Ready or Not - 4 out of 5
Slither - 2.5…
We will watch 13 films throughout October, ranging from those best viewed with a stiff drink to laughable fake blood fests.
(Yes we really like goth stuff 24/7)
My partner and I have chosen six films each, with the last being a wild card that you can all feel free to suggest.
Feel free to share your recommendations if you’re getting into horror movies this spooky season.

So first up is tonight’s viewing of Dog Soldiers
I don’t think it gets enough credit for how much fun it is and gruesome.
Some big hitters in the cast as well - Kevin McKidd, Sean Pertwee and Liam Cunningham. Plus the director also directed The Descent which is top tier but not in this month’s hit list.

Army is Darkness is such a classic but not really horror, Bruce Campbell is just the boss!

So I loved this film growing up and I’ve kinda held back from watching it again incase it loses some of it’s shine.
Justice for horror adjacent comedies though - for instance one of my favourite films of all time is The 'Burbs. I class it as both

This is too scary for my liking!
But maybe we’ll revisit our Gerard Butler Week that we did during lockdown!

Friday night was another spooky feature night.
We watched the slasher classic Scream. Honestly just one of the best films of the era and had a chokehold over an entire generation.
In other horror related chatter I forgot to share my birthday cake that my partner got me
