I require 3 months of stamped statements as part of my work visa application for South Africa. The issue is they cannot be older than 7 days at the date of my appointment e.g. if my appoint is 12/07 then the last day cant be earlier than 05/07. I have ordered statements twice now and both times they have not arrived in time.
The other option is I can use unstamped statements but they need a signed verification letter from the bank. Monzo informed me they do not offer this.
I am really concerned at this point because if they continually do not come I will lose this amazing job opportunity, do I have any other options available to me?
Well apart from open a high street bank probably not. Sounds like you’ve explored what Monzo can do but this is one of those slight edge cases where the fintech scene haven’t quite got there.
I have highlighted this before as being a key missing feature. Starling has such a quick and easy feature for this. Shame Monzo doesn’t have it- guess it’s such a niche feature, that it’s not on their list
I have started to put money into another account in order to start building up 3 months of bank statements in the meantime. The issue is that my potential employer is unlikely to be happy/want to go forward under this arrangement due to the significant delay.
