Monzo Plus - what would you like to see?

Seems forums and my social media is blowing up with people that are getting the chance to sign up. Must have been a hell of a lot of people put their name on the waiting list before me in the 11 minutes it took me to see the announcement and sign up.

Certainly a positive sign for Monzo, if not me

Monzo plus is personal for now in the future they will likely add it to the joint account as well. They haven’t even began the official roll out of the service and the general roadmap was only announced on the forum in the last week.

Monzo maybe behind the curve with some of these bits and pieces but they will get there but all of these features / service need to be designed, developed, tested, internally tested, small scale tested and the rolled out. All of the steps assuming the tests don’t have faults and there isn’t a better way to do something. IT development take time and as long as the final product is something they are proud of and is good for us to use then it’s worth the wait. For some people on the bank front that means doing a half and half in the mean time.

I’m surprised there’s not an automated way to pick your name… (of course with someone vetting any name change before it goes live.)

I’d assume it’s being worked on?

Would this not be another option that is only used once and then clogs up the menu?

I was thinking maybe a few self help features in the chat; much like Revolut has.

ie. typing

change name thom_horne

or similar could prompt a name change; the automated population of help FAQ questions could help and the search box in the help section is ace for finding answers quickly already.

As long as human help is still there at the level it’s always been I don’t see the harm?

What about.

Comparing your monthly usage to the average of other Monzo users in particular categories of spend.

So like Eating out Me £500 monzo average £300 ( could index it to region based on postcode)

Again same with merchants

Me £50 Vodafone monzo average £35 Vodafone…

Identified through big data areas over and under spend compared to average monzo user

I wouldn’t put this as a Monzo Plus feature but I like the idea

Hi

I just received my Monzo Plus card in the post today

Apologies in advance if this has already been mentioned.

I also use Curve Card, I’d like to see the Monzo Plus image when adding my Monzo Plus card to Curve Card. Currently I have it set to the image of Hot Coral Investor.

Any update as to when this would change in Curve Card?

Thanks in Advance

Barry

You need to ask Curve to update their app

Still waiting for my invite :disappointed: for the current offering i’d risk £3 for 12 months to see how it goes but if they up it to £6 with no added features then I won’t be trying it until Monzo can offer something more substantial.

Somebody mentioned Santander. Yes, Santander charge £5/month for the 123 account but you can easily get that back through direct debit payments and even make a few quid each month.

If I recall correctly they even offer a 123 lite account for a reduced fee and the only difference is you don’t get interest on your balance, similar to NatWest Rewards £2/month. I guess what I’m getting at is the current offering for £6 is way overpriced and other banks offer better deals.

How’s this for a kick in the teeth… for years now I have been trying to get my monzo.me URL changed to just my first name always to be told no it can’t be done it have to be some form of your legal name.

Well surprise surprise I go to see if it still available but nope it’s gone, someone has it now… amazing how things change when money is involved.

I imagine that it would have been nice if you had a fair chance of claiming it too?

Instead this very slowly expanding “trial” is just making it even more unfair to the majority and devaluing the Plus subscription when people find all derivatives are claimed.

Had it been launched to everyone at the same time and it was first come first serve then tough luck to me if I missed it but the fact I have been trying for years to get it only to be told no then this happens… joke tbh.

Sorry you missed out, that’s really unfair. :fearful:

It’s cool, I just won’t bother with it now.

Also I would like to point out that it has it has always supposed to have been a legal variant of your name, well clearly this person’s name is their legal name and the URL is not where it would have been for me.

Not sure if there’d be sufficient interest to enable sufficient negotiating power for a decent deal, but would be good if some form of bicycle insurance could be possible as an add-on to plus (maybe as an extension of contents insurance). There might be a decent number of customers with bikes (either for commuting or leisure).

I think it makes no sense to assign URLs like this. Some sort of auction pricing, similar to domain names, would be much more effective.

Maybe you would happily have paid more for “Danny” and the person who now has it doesn’t actually care all that much…

It’s little things like this that turned me off Monzo to the point I still use the account sometimes but I’m not bought into the whole transparency thing and Monzo being better than other banks - they aren’t. I just use it now because I’m interested in Fintech.

I wouldn’t have paid more for it at all, I’m more annoyed at the fact that I have always been told no as it has to be your legal name and include your full name now it appears that when money comes to play those rules do not matter and nor it seems does customer longevity/loyalty.
