Sure. I donā€™t disagree with that. My point was that annoyance is justified and shouldnā€™t be brushed away with ā€˜they do you show you what is available nowā€™ because of Monzo reverence.

Annoyance is always justified.
Equally justified is the option you have to continue with Plus or cancel it.

I didnā€™t see that as an ā€˜attitudeā€™ personally, I mean I could argue (Iā€™m not) about the ā€˜attitudeā€™ of people complaining about something that they chose to sign up forā€¦ but swings and roundabouts!

CS needs to improve, there are threads all over this forum about it, totally agree.
Card qualityā€¦ mine was fine but I know many others think the quality is poor.

Anyway, getting away from the topicā€¦

Bearing in mind, if you do cancel within the 14 days you can not currently sign back up to Monzo Plus at a later date. Well, not yet anywayā€¦ ā€œit may be possible to rejoinā€ theyā€™ve been quoted as saying.

ā€¦I am mainly paying for the Plus not because I get stuff, but because I kinda support Monzo as a bank :smiley: stuff is cool too, but Plus is still young.

Card quality has been discussed at length (not just in this topic) and responded to by Monzo. Have a search :slight_smile:

There is nothing wrong with expressing that youā€™re unhappy about it, in fact Monzo ask for this. All people are doing is giving you your options.

Iā€™ll collate them all for you below:

  • Cancel your Plus subscription since youā€™re within the 14 days cooling off period
  • Order a replacement (the bad batch is supposed to have been removed now)
  • Contact CS and get a different coloured card or revert to the standard Coral one
  • Hang fire until the tweaked design (:soon:) or metal cards are released
  • None of the above, wait for more features to be added (weā€™re told in the next few days) to make it more worthwhile

As an update, roughly 48 hours after my initial message, Iā€™ve got someone ordering a new card for me, with an express disclaimer that there is no guarantee that the new card will have the issue fixed. :roll_eyes:

Just to throw in my experience as well, I got my card today (lighter blue) and am extremely unimpressed. The pink of the card is visible under the poorly printed card numbers straight out of he envelope. The ā€œplusā€ (spot lamination?) is almost invisible, and the general printing quality seems really low resolution. CVV also visible though the card.

Overall itā€™s a huge step down in terms of quality from the coral card, which I really wasnā€™t expecting. Iā€™m honestly shocked that they took his shortcut - I donā€™t hang out here much so was unaware of other reports.

Will hold onto it for now - I donā€™t think I have a atypically bad card, iā€™m sure itā€™s the same as all the others. Interested to see what they do to fix this.

I got the light blue one today as well, I think you might have something wrong with yours bud mine isnā€™t like that

I got the dark blue which seems to have the most issues, I only have the coral come through on the one number shown and also around the chip and tbh the worst quality issues is one of the characters doesnā€™t seem level on my name. Itā€™s a card at the end of the day, itā€™s disappointing that quality is not better but Iā€™m waiting for metal now.

I donā€™t get how someone can get sick of feedback on quality issues, if people are in uproar then maybe its a overreaction but obviously people are bringing quality issues to light and leaving feedback.

Itā€™s the only way a company learns and makes progressā€¦

If you read what I said properly, I clearly said Iā€™m sick of seeing the same topic thatā€™s already beeen mentioned numerous times in one thread already! So I donā€™t see why people need to keep making different threads about the same thing.

Well before creating the new thread surely they could of searched to see if one already exists. My problems NOT with people raising their issues but itā€™s the fact that they keep making new threads about a whole topic thatā€™s already active. I said what I said anyway.

I came here for the first time in a long time, and of all the threads in the ā€œMonzo Plusā€ category, this was the only thread title which mentioned quality. So I picked this one to reply to.

Itā€™s heavily debated in the Monzo Plus thread itself but now this exists, weā€™ll probably just move all future feedback here rather than there.

Well done for using an established thread though, itā€™s really not very common so I get the frustration of some.

So Iā€™m afraid people will come on here and express their dissatisfaction with card quality- after all thatā€™s what a forum is about - discussion.
I went for the light blue & it has a small scratch on it but hey it works & overall it looks good. I kinda like the coral core on it.
No one knows how many cards are affected by the quality issues. 10,500 sign ups so Iā€™m guessing itā€™s quite a few & of course not everyone is affected.
Opinions run high on here but at the end of the day letā€™s put it into perspective- itā€™s a bank card.
How many of us actually use apple or google pay anyhow?!
