Monzo Mobile! šŸ“±

Nearly everyone has agreed it is poor value for money, yet you decide to insult me and only me

How can you keep saying it’s me trying to cause arguements and that’s it’s me causing issues?

The likes of Lebara, VOXI and giffgaff are household names owing to their TV ads. My non-tech savvy family members (including older generations) all use them.

The pricing is just bizarre.

See I would be tempted by the 30gb option, but I have an Apple Watch with a data plan, and bringing that from O2 is a pain in the neck, so can’t make it work. I don’t think they look that bad

I didn’t say differently. You’re just proving my point.

But then of that 1/4, only ~50% of those pay in Ā£500 a month spending money because they don’t trust the bank, or only do so when going abroad, the metrics are kinda moot. It’s just the new Post Office travel card at this point.

75%+ of those monzo account holders wouldn’t ever be looking for anything other than a balance and to authorise a payment.

So a mobile service least competitive, is probably built that way because the take up will be minimal.

As Mondo user 511, I deffo want to get in early with this one too :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Can’t say I’ve ever seen O2 place speed restrictions but EE, Vodafone and now Three do it.

Data you’ve made up isn’t real data.

Whether they use Monzo completely or sparingly is irrelevant. They are a Monzo customer and will get advertised to.

For me the monthly price doesn’t matter quite as much as the roaming features. We stuck with Three for 6+ years because we were on a grandfathered plan with free EU & US roaming. We only switched to Honest around a year ago when I got intrigued by their SmartSIM. We’ve been pretty happy (Honest piggyback off Three’s network so we haven’t seen a change in service) but the roaming isn’t quite as good. Five free EU days on every trip is nice, but Ā£7.50/day US roaming is not so nice. If Monzo’s plans include free roaming in the EU and US we would definitely be tempted to switch.

Not sure what metric Monzo uses for a ā€œfull customerā€ but I’m sure it was Ā£500 or Ā£1,000 paid in a month.

The rest still applies. We don’t all have to love monzo the way you do. It’s ok.

If you want really good value there’s Mozillion on EE Prepaid Pay as you go SIMs from Mozillion

Is MMS included or is it an additional fee?

True 24/7 support, or just the standard 7am - 8pm support with 24/7 for urgent questions?

Do you have any pricing for these add-ons. Likewise how is monzo dealing with 084/087 calls, short codes, and international calling outside of those 60 minutes.

Just to throw another number, Monzo are the 7th biggest bank in terms of card payment volume on the platform I help run

shame it’s not EE or Vodafone

Also does it include 5G Standalone and satellite too?

Be warned, Jo will be testing whether this is truly 24/7

You can grab some 1p mobile sims for Ā£1 (don’t choose a bundle) and they come with Ā£10 free credit.

I’ve two of those, using the Ā£5pm bundle as only EE works on the Merseyrail underground.

I’d see value in Monzo mobile if they used EE.

Sorry to correct you but Monzo ā€œfullā€ customers is 5 million  so 1/3 of the Monzo customer base.

How does the 30% off over time work? Is it 5% per year over a number of years?

It doesn’t apply because you’re making up assumptions to back up your point. It’s nothing to do with my ā€œloveā€ for Monzo.

You can’t look at this objectively and understand it. Your first thought is always Revolut to compare or just to bash.

Take a step back and think for a second and you might see it.
