Yes! Going to Monzo Meetup Birmingham on Tuesday! Looking forward to it!
Anyone else?
[editā¦] just me then
Thanks to the Monzo team for coming to Birmingham to engage with users. The catering was a pleasant surprise and it was a useful event.
Big up especially to @Tara who showed real passion and enthusiasm for keeping the team sweet. Looks a real great place to work, hit me up if you ever need a scientist!
Hopefully some gifs in the presentation next time
#generous
@andys talk was interesting highlighting building a bank from scratch and where you guys are going with this. Food for thought indeed.
Some feedback would be maybe hold out for some audience questions at the end, someone will ask one and get the ball rolling or maybe have a plant in the audience asking some to get the ball rolling
All in was a good meet, crucial I think to keep engagement with the user community. :mondo:
Great to meet you all, finally back in Norwich after an overnight stay in Coventry.
Great to meet you all last night! A special mention goes to @Dunsford for making the way all the way from Norwich!
@Azide thanks for the feedback! We normally have a catchbox to hand to help break the ice!
For anyone who couldnāt make it, there will be a full debrief thread including slides and video posted tomorrow.
The poll for next monthās meetup is underway - place your votes here!
The link to the poll seems to go to catchbox website rather than a poll
Sorry! This is fixed now!

Presentations on ātransparency and ethical bankingā, served with unethical food
Finally! Consider me there! And its on my Birthday? Awesome.
They will need to know how many candles, or at least the range it is in. e.g. 34+ as ASOS has as its upper age bracket!
Haha 29, but iād settle for more info on the current accounts
How so Colin? Do you know something we donāt?
No not really. Some people consider eating meat is unethical.
When I saw who was providing the food, I looked at their menu online. Iām not sure there was anything for my vegan mates, and as a vegetarian I thought āmacaroni cheese burgerā sounded like they werenāt even trying. But your Monzo twitter account has reassured me that it wonāt just be some huge meat-fest.
@_Colin_W We do our best to cover all bases! There will be a vegan option of a refried bean burrito also I would say there is a distinction between respecting and providing good quality food for all dietary preferences and providing food that is going to be to everyoneās taste. We certainly strive for the first, the second is more difficult. What flavours and ingredients people like and donāt like varies hugely - itās likely some meat eaters wonāt like our meat options either. We take it all onboard and do our best to improve next time
This. This is why we Monzo. You guys actually listen!
Yes, agree with everything you wrote.
Very happy to hear this a a veggie myself. As mentioned, another reason why is awesome!
I recently found out that I have serious medical issue - my digestion system only accepts sushiā¦
