I’m off to Serbia for 6 weeks shortly. Does anyone have any tips or advice about using Monzo there? Anything to avoid using it for to avoid high charges etc?

I thought I’d feed back as I’m leaving Serbia today after nearly two months. I’ve mostly been living in Subotica in the north but also travelling in Belgrade, Tara, Djardap and Fruska Gora national parks and places in between. I have had no problems at all using Monzo here. Payment by “credit card” is widely accepted and there are plenty of ATMs in towns but not some of the smaller places. Cash is needed for taxi fares and private b&bs but I only came across a handful of smaller shops or bars where payment had to be in cash so Monzo’s monthly limit on cash withdrawals has not been a problem. Some places (car hire, tourist hotels) quote prices in euros but accept payment in dinar.

That’s good to know. I’m going to Belgrade for 5 nights, end of this month. With taxis, is it all cash? No card payments at all? Mainly thinking airport to city hotel.
