Anyone here on Lebara able to confirm whether you can use them to connect to the TfL wifi in tube stations (using the Vodafone SSID)? I’m seeing mixed reports online about whether it’s possible.
My daughter has a iPhone with a Lebara sim….and it doesn’t connect…she hasn’t altered any settings etc…..so maybe if she did …the WiFi would work…..but at the moment it doesn’t work
Ohh! SA not actually any better then?
i just realised EE only let you have SA when you take out their top package - which seems a bit overkill for me anyway. Also, they now seem to cap speeds at 100 mbps, unless you again, take out their top package. So I might just stick what what I’m on.
Out of interest, has anyone got any good deals through EE retention?
The EE full works plan at £29 is good value if you have a watch, go abroad a lot, and in an area with decent speeds.
Does anybody know how far into a 2-year contract with EE you need to be to qualify for an upgrade?
I’m 6 months into Full Works (with first year at 50% discount) but the current £29 plan will be cheaper over 2 years.
EE will only really start offering discounts to retain customers if you request a PAC code. If you do this online, you’ll get a call from an agent with good offers. Such as unlimited data, EU roaming, for £13 a month with max speed of 100mbps.
They then have some sub £10 deals - again only available if you ask for a PAC.
Retention offers are I think the speed restricted plans. The top tier plans aren’t on retention.
Have you tried the upgrade options in MyEE, though often you can only move up to a higher price plan, but worth a call to 150 discuss your options and see what they might do?
Yeah I actually just had that call and she offered £12 per month for 100gb data but speed restricted to 100 mbps. I think I might just leave it as my current one is £18 a month and not restricted. Sounds like to get SA, I’d need to have the full package which, as you say, isn’t part of their retention offer.
Yes. The weird thing is that if I text UP to 150, it says something like “Congratulations, you are eligible for an upgrade”, along with a URL. If I follow the URL, it says “sorry, we can’t offer you an upgrade yet”.
Can confirm I did not have 5G off the bat. Spoke to CS in the app and they said it was correct that they needed to enable it manually. Done now and 5G working, rather odd though.
They rang again and offered 125gb for £9 per month, so went with that. Seems very cheap for EE. It’s speed capped though to 100
100meg is plentiful for mobile. Nothing will ever really go over 10 on a good day, other than a speed test.
Very true. The only time it comes in handy is when you are trying to download a whole box set on the aeroplane before it takes off
Plan ahead ![]()
Yes (SmartSIM) and I also received that investor email today too.
Why do you have to log in to use the EE service status checker ![]()
I have an old account with no products and if I log into that it just gives an error.
Do any of the EE mvno have the status checker available, they only seem to have the coverage checker.
There is a link if you google it that will work, it’s a few down
Thanks
Good deal. I have the unlimited one for £13 with the EU roaming but I’d have easily taken the £9 deal as I doubt I use more than 10!
I’ve not found issues with the speed cap - when I have good coverage. But in central London, the EE network is pretty much overloaded now. And it’s so so slow.
