I started tracking merchants where I submitted a request using a hashtag in the note and literally nothing has changed for anything submitted in the last two months.
Bit frustrating, I always felt it was one of the areas where Monzo had an edge and just had that bit more attention to detail than other banks when it came to this and ensuring people had accurate “beautified” feeds.
I’ve got merchant corrections I’ve submitted back from Feb onwards that have not been corrected - not a single one has been changed. Some highlights include Holiday Inn (for which they didn’t bother to correct the name when I had to raise a cashback claim (IHG) ) car rental from Enterprise and a Cosy Club… not exactly the small fish retailers and all with very accessible social presence.
I don’t think it was ever automated if I remember right.
My understanding is the functionality got a bit of improvement for the people who manage these but it’s still a task that is done only when there’s a bit of capacity in their typical workload.
Those who argue that their changes haven’t been actioned, could simply be the case they were rejected. We’ll never know. As feedback isn’t given on what decision is made.
While that’s true that we don’t know if they have been rejected, I think that’s more true for smaller retailers. When bigger retailers aren’t getting updated (Paulw said in April that ones he’d submitted for even Sainsbury’s and Subway) I think it’s more likely that nobody has been given time to dip in and do these than them being rejected.
If I’d had one or a couple corrected then I’d be suggesting resubmitting, but since I’ve got a queue of at least 20+ now I think it’s a black hole until things start moving again.
Is there no way to correct an address anymore? I can’t seem to find the option.
The Get Help button only takes me to options for things like chargebacks or missing cashback, while “Improve name or logo” doesn’t let me suggest a new address.
For context: my barber uses SumUp and appears to be registered as an individual (the merchant name is her full name). However, the address displayed is a residential one about a 3 min drive from her actual work location.
This could raise privacy concerns, so either removing the address or updating it to her business address would be better.
Of course, I realise that SumUp is providing this information and ideally she would contact them directly to get it corrected on their side - but surely Monzo should also change it on their side too?
The logo isn’t important to me either, but with Monzo completely ignoring this it ruins the Trends feature by not grouping the transactions under the right merchant. It’s part of the reason I stopped paying for Extra which I was only really using for Connected Accounts to be included in Trends.
Could be true but I’m paying for Trends so it should be maintained imo. Plus if they have a feature like this then it should be maintained and the time I’ve taken to help them by submitting feedback should be acknowledged.
Doesn’t work well for merchant spend though if some of them are incorrect. I like to look at that sometimes. Having merchants corrected helps with this.
