My wife can withdraw £1k from her Natwest card at a Natwest ATM. I know she has tried at other banks & it has been rejected.
That’s interesting. I think my NatWest limit is £300 or £500 but I usually use other ATMs.
Little story behind it. Back in the day someone made a mistake and it should of been £100.
It was quite funny when we got our first mortgage- the guy at the branch was shocked by the ATM limit but didn’t change it.
We very rarely use cash now so never need it.
I’d much prefer a cashless society.
Natwest can easily amend it in branch although I doubt regular customers could ask for it without a mistake occurring as in your wifes case. My schools office admin worked for Natwest for 30-odd years before redundancy and the last thing she asked for before she left was her ATM limit to be raised to £2,000.
And if I go to Account > Manage > Spending and card limits (not card>manage and overdrafts>limits) it says 24 hours but not rolling?
How can I increase this?
(Similar question, how to increase bank transfer limit too from a measly £10k?)
Hi,
I believe the limit is rolling as it says per 24hrs not per day, so if you took out 400 at 2pm it won’t let you take our more money at 12.01am you have to wait until 2pm the next day.
You can ask in app chat to confirm this.
I don’t know if they can up the limit for ATM withdrawals maybe they would for a one off, again ask in app.
Increasing the transfer limit can definitely be done, but I’m not sure if they can lift it on a permanent basis, to do this message them in app, you’re best off doing as far in advance incase of any issues or support delays
Why I can’t have overdraft
No one on the forum can tell you , customer support may be able to, but I don’t know if they have access to that kind of info.
It is usually down to your credit history.
Most atm withdrawal limits are £300-500, more if you are a premium or business account holder. Branches can also increase the limit but usually you’ll have to give a pretty valid reason to why you’d want to withdraw more than £500 on a regular basis.
Monzo use CallCredit reference agency. Check your Credit Score with them and see why you would be declined credit. Monzo usually won’t comment on why they decline overdrafts but as @kolok said, it’s usually due to credit history.
The overview of Monzo’s lending ethos is shown here;
As for the details, only Monzo know this because there are so many factors involved and we all have a different financial position.
