Am sure has been raised but i don’t use the forum anymore and don’t want to sift through it. However to leave feedback the Monzo app has directed me here rather than allowing me to feedback direct which could be a topic in itself.
Basically in short I don’t like how personal and joint accounts have been merged. I don’t want to see my personal and joint pots in the same sections and it’s not immediately clear now which accounts they sit under.
I also don’t want to see both personal and joint expenditure in one feed.
I want anything related to my joint account to be in a totally separate part of Monzo for me to view and digest entirely separately- basically exactly how it was before was perfect for me, when you just swiped across to the joint section and everything joint related was detailed separately.
For people that have multiple Monzo accounts - this isn’t possible with the current implementation. You see the number of transactions as defined in ‘Preview’ across all available Monzo accounts.
One possible fix would be to allow the selection of Monzo accounts in the ‘Preview’ section of the Activity settings (scroll to bottom of Home → Customise → Activity) - OR - allow the ‘Preview’ Transaction quantity to go to 0 (zero) to turn it off completely - it currently has a minimum setting of ‘3’ transactions and a maximum setting of ‘5’ transactions.
Neither (or any alternative) available now though.
I can understand wanting to have things separated between Joint and Personal, but I don’t think Monzo will ever revert it back to be honest with you. Your feedback is valid, and I hope Monzo take note. They have made changes to the new UI to help make it easier to destingush between the 2 though. I do think more work could be done to improve it even more, but you have ways now that could help.
Currently, you can’t deselect main Joint or Personal transactions from the “activity” list, but if you unselect everything, and set the number of transactions down to the minimum (currently 3), then that might make things less cluttered for you. You can see the full feed for main joint account or personal account only (not including pot transactions) by tapping on the card. Tapping on a specific pot will show all transations relating to that specific pot.
The app does tell you which pot is for which account (says personal or joint under the name when you have both accounts), but if this isn’t enough, then maybe you could try:
Changing the name, like adding “Joint” to your joint pots, or adding an emoji to the start that represents a certain account (I have a Purple heart for Personal pots, and a yellow heart for Joint)
Using custom pot images that are colour coded to the associated account (you could match that to the emoji if you go down that route)
Reorder the pots so that they are grouped by account
