Joint Account Question

Hi, Me and my wife have a personal monzo account, if we setup a joint account do we still retain the personal accounts along with the new joint account ? Anyone know how it works.

Yes you do, you keep both and both still function like separate accounts with their own details, so if you want to surprise your wife with a holiday or something, you can still do so from your own account without her knowing

Hi. Welcome.

Yes you do, you keep your personal accounts. You can’t actually have a joint account without a personal account.

lol, thanks.
And with that joint account can we have a joint savings pot as well ?

Correct, you can.

Importantly, however, if you pay for Perks/Max and she doesn’t, then your personal savings pots will pay 4.1% interest but joint savings pots will only pay 3.6% (or whatever the higher/lower rates are at the time this gets read).

I dont pay for any extra service. My savings pot is 4%. I noticed when i created a savings pot for her it was lower. Any idea why that is ?

It’s probably one of the 3rd party savings pots then.

So am I able to get her the 4% then ?
