Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing good. Was wondering what people think some good joint accounts are? My partner and myself will be moving in together soon so we want to get one. Unfortunately she closed her Monzo account a few years ago and they won’t reopen it for her, so we are wondering what the best alternatives are.
So far we are considering opening a joint Santander Edge account as we both already bank with them and they give good cashback rates and interest on their savings account.

We use Starling. Simple. Effective. No cashback perks but we ain’t fussed on it. Monzo wouldn’t give us a JA so Starling did within 5 minutes.
Santander Edge comes with a fee so it’s worth working out whether you’d make enough to both clear the fee and profit from it.

Thanks! Yes we worked out using their website that we would make about £5 a month, which isn’t much but better than nothing I suppose.

Absolutely. Worth checking NatWest too for the paid plan, £5 a month return if you both went solo, might make slightly more between you and then have the joint account.
For benefits, Nationwide £13pm for travel, phone and breakdown cover for the family IE two of you.

Thanks for the suggestion about NatWest! We had a look and actually ended up going with them! A big perk is that you can apply for their rewards credit card and they refund the annual fee if you have a rewards account as well (1% cashback supermarkets, 0.25% everywhere else), so that’s great.

I’m looking at this now too since Monzo are doing whatever they’re doing with joint accounts. My thinking at the moment is to CASS the Starling account I have sitting around doing nothing, take the NatWest switch bonus and set it up as a joint account, not sure any of the other options really compete.
