(First off, sorry to all! I didn’t mean to hijack a Jaja discussion to talk about Tymit. I just posted an alternative to someone who has a less favourable view.)
I don’t know what happens if you try to pay a transaction flagged for instalments. I think I read a complaint somewhere that once you had opted for instalments you were committed.Haven’t tried, so I am not sure.
I guess you could end up with lots and lots of balances with different withdrawal periods, but that would be your own doing.
It is a different concept and guess it has two uses - a charge card and a mini-loan feature. You lose a bit of credit card flexibility for a lower than average (though not market-beating) interest rate. For some people the fact that it forces you to actively choose to extend payment on a transaction rather than just make a partial payment on a credit card will be a good discipline, perhaps.
I went up (or is it down) about 110 places too. I wil probably get an invite from Jaja and Tymit at the same time then have a decision to make which way to go.
Likewise same boat it wasn’t mentioned for me either just instant decline excuse the pun either way I tried but to no avail so I’ll just leave it there.
Has anyone who received their invite yesterday had any follow up from Jaja? I filled in their eligibility survey (and I seem to be eligible) but I’ve not received a link to download the app yet.
I got the invite yesterday, and got the TestFlight notification today. Completed my application through the app and was approved. Credit limit is very low by the standards of my other cards and my monthly usage, so it won’t be terrifically useful at this stage (I’ve got a week’s holiday booked in the US in April and the credit limit won’t cover the week’s hotel, let alone any incidental costs). So I think Tymit will be my main travel card at this stage, but I’ll try to use Jaja from time to time to increase the credit limit, as the app looks better at a very first glance.
