Another button nobody asked for.

Solution: remove camera button from Lock Screen

Isnā€™t that only just becoming a feature in iOS 18? I had my action button as the torch as well as having the button on the lock screen.

Yep, iOS 18 lets you customise the Lock Screen controls. Not sure what Iā€™d want to put there though, itā€™s been the camera and torch forever now.

My action button is the torch for 9 months of the year and the camera button during winter when I donā€™t want to take my glove off to take a photo. Hopefully this new camera control will help with that.

Even on Android I usually have camera and torch but with a Pixel I like double press lock button for camera so I switch that one to wallet. Like the reverse of how wallet/camera is on iPhone.

Iā€™m going to be turning my action button into a complex time-based solution for what I want/need.
ie. if Iā€™m at home, and itā€™s after 10pm, turn off lights - as thatā€™s mostly what I do before

No idea if I can do that though

I got the impression from the presentation that you will be able to

You already can. With Shortcuts only your imagination (and coding ability) is the limit.

Totally normal battery drain, this.

Itā€™s amazing with the Camera Control - itā€™s cool tech with it being pressure sensitive, can you just imagine if they put that 3D touch tech in the screen? oh, waitā€¦

If Apple says itā€™s normal, itā€™s normal! Alright?

Reminds me of a song ā€œLife is a Rollercoasterā€ but itā€™s a battery instead

The new button will have a Touch ID sensor in it for 2025.

Yes, I forgot you could assign shortcuts to it!

I made mine have a menu lol that way it can trigger other options.

You can change its functionality with focus modes, so it does something different depending on your focus.

Or you go nuts programming something more complex with shortcuts.

Thatā€™s plan I think :eyes:

Iā€™ve started to buy the model a year or more before now when upgrading. I used to upgrade every year or two to the newest release.

That was sort of fine when it would still come in around Ā£35-45 a month.

Now the plans are close to Ā£60+ with fees ontop (and the annual interest increase which I still thing is something that should be cracked down upon.)

% increases are being banned and will be replaced with a Ā£ increase figure. This is to reduce uncertainty of increases due to unknown future inflation rates they were linked to.

Itā€™s still 0% APR for 24 months and has been for several yearsā€¦

Unless youā€™re upgrading via your carrier, which in that case, good luck

Anyone O2 switch upping this?
