_____________?
I’m getting 330/60 on Vodafone 5g in one place and around 450 in another place ,
5g signal drops off so quickly, within a couple hundred metres the speeds just tank.
Apple One may be launching today. Just in time for me before my Apple Music trial expires
I’ve got free trials of tv+ and Arcade at the moment, and Fitness+ won’t be part of the bundle yet - so I’ll be hanging on for a bit longer before diving into One.
That’s interesting. Do you have any evidence for this?
They announced it during the earnings call yesterday
No details on an annual plan, or a student discount?
For students, it will be cheaper to pay for them individually per month. And those who subscribe annually won’t save anything unless they value and use all of the bundled services, and even then it’s only an annual saving of £20.
Cool, thanks.
Got it back today, there’s a crack in the rear camera housing! I think it’s unlikely it happened in transit as it went back in the original box. So it must have happened and I never noticed!
Local iPhone fix place said £65 to repair. iFixit says 15 mins and “easy” but I don’t have the tools, skills or confidence to do it myself.
In the end I’ve used sellmycell as @N26throwaway recommended. They still give a decent payment despite it being “broken” as I decided that paying to have it fixed and then trying to trade it in could come back to bite me if they deem it not original or something.
Damn that’s unfortunate
I do quite a bit of home repair, the ifixit kits and videos are great but I only really reccomend starting out on something you can afford to lose, because it’s never as easy as it looks (these things are delicate when you start taking them apart!). How much did you get for it through sellmycell?
£210, which I didn’t think was that bad.
I watched a YT vid and it had someone using a screwdriver to chip away and break the glass, then a heatgun to be able to prise it out before cleaning it out and replacing it. With the emphasis on not damaging the camera lens and another small piece. I’m not good at this sort of thing, it would be like trying to stitch with boxing gloves on!
In an ideal world, I’d have paid £65 to have it fixed and then got the £325ish you can get from other places. That would have resulted in more money net, but if they rejected it still, I’d be way down. Got to take the hits sometimes.
There’s another possibility. Maybe they dropped it when unpacking it.
Urgh!
To start with I thought they were exaggerating and when I googled about it, there’s hundreds of posts across various forums of people who are certain their phone didn’t have the damage they said it does when it was sent to them.
And apparently it’s now out
It is, I just upgraded from my separate subs to it.
I don’t think that’s the website I mentioned!
Very good price for a faulty device though. And I’ll probably use them if something goes wrong with mine and they deem it faulty.
https://www.goodbuytech.co.uk/ I’ll be using these due to positive reviews on the iPhone 12 pre order thread at macrumors, and the trust pilot score. The grading criteria is quite clear cut too which is always nice.
In the past I’ve always taken photos and videos of my device right before packing it up, and then record myself packing it, just to be safe. I’m very intricate too, and more often than notice flaws others miss, or consider minor things to be worse than they are. My eBay seller feedback more often than not has people telling me the item arrived in better condition than described. So I’ll do the same process here too.
On a side note, bright star actually sent some decent packaging, so I’ll be using that to send my phone to goodbuytech.
Hahaha! How did I get these two confused!
Just upgraded too. Pretty straight forward and easy process. Even got a refund for my Apple Music subscription that was processed earlier today.
I might give it a few days. I just get a blank screen when I try to upgrade.
Who do they think they are?! Monzo!!
Unfair, I know. I just couldn’t help myself.
