Apple are the kings of using old parts for many many years and argably well past their prime.
lmao true, can’t argue with that
Haven’t had any issues with iPadOS 17 on my A12Z iPad Pro!
Had to turn off developer beta updates to make it show up.
Anyone with the iPhone 15 got the titanium issue where it has discolouration around the edge?

Just seen one with a scratched camera on delivery too
What I love about Reddit is all the really helpful replies.
Oh, wait…
Anyone get this bug or is it literally me.
While playing music out loud on iPhone, go to a website eg first direct and click online banking to Log On.
The music seems to switch to playing music through the earpiece rather than the speakers.
Not that, but I have a very annoying bug where I’ll be playing music (and the dynamic island works just fine) and then I’ll be on an app or something and the island will just go dark and then not interact.
The only way is to go back into music, start playback again, and then it works fine until the next time a video or something audio based wants to play in an app again.
I do wonder if something specific to your device is affecting battery performance. I know in the betas you had similar. But my iPhone 14 pro has not once had issues with battery, even now. The Watch did but we know the beta was affecting performance.
Presume you’ve tried the whole re-set and all of that?
They have a lot of non basic software setup running all the time, most certainly opposed to me as a switch it on and that’s ya lot
I wish they’d offer a lower performance mode but keep background activity and 120Hz refresh rate. I don’t need my phone to be crazy fast all day, I’d be happy to set an artificial cap to make the battery last longer.
I went for the Pro this year and I’ve been having to charge up again at around 4pm, but that’s probably down to me using it more than the average person during the day. A toggle for a 70% or whatever cap would be pretty useful.
Mine arrived yesterday morning and I’ve just opened it now. I’m using Quick Start to transfer everything across and was quite impressed that my EE eSIM transferred in seconds. I don’t think it worked last year.
Edit: Ooh - transfer complete. Now to have fun re-registering all the financial apps
Edit2: This is cool - my watch started making a trilling noise and asked if I wanted to pair it with the new iPhone, so it’s now doing that. Can’t say I’m looking forward to adding my 10 cards to the phone’s wallet and then the watch’s wallet again (assuming it drops them all while re-pairing).
The watch has kept all the cards, thank $deity.
It wasn’t - I had a lot of trouble with four of them (including Monzo debit and Flex). All sorted now, though.
HSBC have improved the process now. I have the HSBC app on my iPad, so I just had to generate a QR code and scan it with the new iPhone. I could then go into the security settings in the app and remove the old iPhone from the list of registered devices.
Is FD still only one device at a time?
Not had my iPhone back on beta iOS since got my new 15 pro max. The shortcut works for me to show up. No issues with my phone warning up either and I am on 17.0.2
That dog has skills in foreign languages and organisation. I can see it in the eyes.
