Introducing Salary Sorter and Bills Pots 🎉

I don’t understand how this is helpful without the ability to include subscriptions in the Bill payment pots? If I move all the DDIs/SOs to a Bills pot, when I then look at the committed spending, how am I supposed to know what figure I need to cover the outstanding payments? I’m left with money in my ‘spending’ pot (current account) that has to cover subscriptions, but no tally of the remaining subscriptions that are due?

That’s great to know! Just got paid so I tried it out but it was a pretty arduous process for me this month… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I had to navigate to summary and look at my committed spend total. Then navigate to my scheduled payment list and add up the ones that don’t currently work with bill pots (which also involved using the calculator and calendar apps on my phone). Then deduct that from the committed spend to get the amount I needed to put in my bill pot.

Hopefully this feature is in by next payday!

I just tried this and when I set a standing order (presume works the same for direct debits) that was in my committed spend to a pot, it was taken out of my committed spend. This seems to make sense and keep the left to spend amount right.

Will this work on Joint Accounts?

The UI for Bills Pots in the blog post, is that live? i’m not seeing a manage button on my pots currently or a prompt to add more bills to a pot.

Accidentally posted this in another thread: I think for my usage it would be nice if:

  • this was automatic on salary receipt.
  • there were more potential targets for splits than just a pot. For instance, I’d want to send a portion to my joint account, a portion to my (external to monzo) savings account, and probably another portion to another external to monzo account.
  • as others have suggested, ways to deal with multiple payments, for people who get non monthly salaries or for instance for my joint account where my partner and i both pay money in separately. maybe you can set up the targets that need to be filled in a single place on a per month basis, and then as money comes in, the targets are filled up?

Sorry my bad, didn’t read that post just got the email and came to get on my high horse that they always forget about people who actually use their Joint as an account instead of a shared pot. Lost for something to do now.

When you say it’s live now. My app hasn’t updated. There is no update in the App Store (iOS). How long does it take from something being Monzo ‘live’ to being on my phone?

My first reaction is exactly the same - I/we use only a JA and so miss the features available solely on PA’s. Mind you, with Bills Pots and Salary Sorter now running, the need for IFTTT integration is getting less-and-less and I’m a big fan of more native control within the app.

Now all I need is the ability to flash the Hue lights red when Mrs W spends from our JA

I’ve moved all my DDI and SOs to a ‘Bills’ pot to try this out. All of those DDI and SOs are still visible in the committed spending section of Summary.

I’m a big fan of this!

Can’t use it this month as payday was yesterday and I’ve already sorted my salary, but can’t wait to try it out next month. It looks great.

Yeah my bad I was looking in the wrong place!

I’ve edited my pot descriptions to include the £££ to match, now just waiting on the salary payment hitting so I can see this in action!

Just done this and now my pots with all bill money has disappeared

Yes me too! Chose to get my salary early and everything has vanished, all my pots gone and my balance is wrong. Now the entire home screen is blank.

More and more issues like this are really turning me off from Monzo…I think they need to get their act together

I think they just got massive load on they data center from all customer doing early salary and playing with pots and etc…

Looks like tsunami hit monzo API’s.

BTW Everything after some time comes back

Maybe thinking about timing their launch of new features with payday rush would have been a good idea
