Back in April 2024, we launched our new plans: Extra, Perks, and Max. It’s been amazing seeing them out in the world and getting your feedback!
We designed the new plans to offer more delight, savings, and choice, but we know they’re not perfect for everyone. Not everyone has a Greggs nearby or qualifies for a Railcard.
These perks were just the start. We want to keep shipping, testing and learning, bringing you benefits that help you get more out of Monzo.
So I have exciting news to share with you… 
We’re adding 2 brand new perks to Perks and Max!
Along with Greggs and Railcard, Perks and Max now also include:

A cinema ticket from Vue every month, and 10% off food and drinks at Vue: For the horror-obsessed to the romcom lovers: get a cinema ticket at Vue every month with Perks and Max. You can also grab 10% off food and non-alcoholic drinks while you’re there. You’ll find two separate codes in the Monzo app to redeem each month: one for your ticket, and one for 10% off. 20% off food at PizzaExpress (Sunday to Thursday): Enjoy 20% off all food from Sunday to Thursday. That includes any dish on the menu, including the Piccolo menu. Best of all, it refreshes daily and the discount applies to the whole table. Just show your QR code to a PizzaExpress team member when you ask for the bill. Dine-in only. Location, certain dates and other exclusions apply. See full Ts&Cs. For now, the PizzaExpress offer will be available until 1 June 2025. This is our first trial of a time-limited offer. Why we chose them
We asked over 6,000 customers about their cinema trips. We found most go every 1–2 months, pay the full ticket price, and some get discounted tickets . After testing various offers and cinema brands, 1 cinema ticket every month at Vue emerged as the favourite.
As for PizzaExpress, it’s in the top 5 of restaurants our customers dine in at, and a popular chain with good geographical coverage. We jumped at the chance to get customers 20% off their meals! Here’s Jake, Catia and Craig after “testing” their PizzaExpress discount - three happy faces!
What else we’ve done
I also want to recap some other improvements we’ve shipped since April for our Extra, Perks and Max users:
- Credit insights have more insights – We added the Experian score to credit insights, so you can get a clearer picture of your credit health and track 3 scores from the major UK credit reference agencies, all within Monzo. We’ve also added real-time notifications for soft and hard searches on your TransUnion credit report, helping you to stay informed about changes to your credit file.
- At last, joint accounts – you can use 4 of our advanced money management tools on your joint account too; and now if both joint account partners have Perks or Max, they also earn a boosted rate of 4.35% AER (variable) on their joint Instant Access Savings Pot.
- Lounge access – Max users can enjoy access to over 1,500 airport lounges worldwide, all at a discounted rate.
- All about the app – Max users can make travel insurance claims in the app. We also shipped a range of new custom app backgrounds, which 60,000 customers are using to perk up their overview.
- Pay from Pot – You can now pay for your subscriptions from a Pot.
