If there was one thing Monzo could add/change what would it be and why?

Yessss!!

Joint Account parity

Native dark mode

OK, that’s two things :man_shrugging:

Still the only thing that matters more than everything else is cashback.

Chat and customer Service. Too slow, not enough information on wait times and the referral to a specialist is far far too slow. They should also introduce a wider range of services on the phone to help people deal with urgent issues.

Android & iOS parity

When app upgrades are rolled out in android it should be inclusive with iOS and vice versa.

Nope. I’ve plenty of other ways to get cash back, I’d rather Monzo did… well a lot of other things, before this.

Most of these already mentioned elsewhere on the forum.

Several I disagree with.

The one thing I hope Monzo add is to allow users to customise the app the way they want.

It’s clear from these forums that there is no ‘one size fits all’ way of working/managing money, so more options to allow us to do that would be a good start.

TBH, This for me personally would be the one thing over all others
I’m not asking for miracles, just some things like being able to archive older transaction history and being able to hide app features which I don’t need or use.

Work to ensure greater average account value, in order to increase income through fractional reserve banking.

Multi currency savings or current account - with major currencies such as Pound Sterling, Euro and the US Dollar.

I would have a Bills pot or a way to budget my actual scheduled outgoings and segregate that cash for the month with Monzo matching automatically that I’m due to pay a specific item for say £30 and that £30 went for it. If the item doesn’t match it could give you unmatched items which you say Yes or No to and it then learns that it is correct and builds a tolerance.

I’d really love an app where you can budget twice. Budget for your specific outgoings (all bills) and then budget the remaining money between categories eg home maintenance, leisure, eating out etc

Stocks & Shares ISA / Investment integration. I like to have everything under one roof (no I didn’t work for Toys r us).

That sounds great.

But what does that mean? How will Monzo make my account ‘greater average value’, do they give me free money?

I agree but I’m more and more happy with my current approach, I budget twice, and use two different banks for each. My legacy bank deals with ‘all bills’, Monzo is everything else.

I think it’s feasible to do this in Monzo but they’d need a large overhaul of the budgeting system (or could perhaps just allow us to create a second in-app account, which is how I did it at my legacy bank and which is simple and easy to use). I fear Monzo look for ‘technical solutions’ sometimes where simpler ones exist.

Agree. Emphasis on budgeting and spend analysis - I find my phone too small to show the info the way I want (trends per category over the year/ year on year trends/ etc.)

Monzo will encourage:

  • Saving

  • Full Monzo

  • Higher Net-Worth customers
