Tbh Pret’s decline started at about the same time it was acquired by a German conglomerate. However, I think they may have realised they pushed it a little far, and that they’ve started annoying their most loyal customers. I do like Pret for the convenience, but a lot of competition has been popping up recently from smaller chains in London (Farmer J, Salad Project, Atis, etc) where quality is so much higher
As I suspected they would need to now, Pret filter is back to 99p.
It was always a frustration that they had to increase filter in line with their subscription, when I actually like the filter there for a quick caffeine hit. 49p with your own cup was always a bargain.
‘Waiting’ i.e. brief stop to pick up a passenger is allowed on double yellow.
Not allowed on double red.
It’s country wide, not just in London.
Despite not being the focus of the photo, the car is parked outside a hotel
In the interest of persecuting drivers of big German cars, I’d point out that if the photo is Westminster Bridge Road, it’s parked in a 24 hour bus lane.
It is Westminster Bridge Road indeed, though this used to be single yellow line and now is a double yellow line, though within a bus lane (but not a red route). As a non-driver I have literally no idea about the rules.
I was just there for 49p coffee
It’s a wee old lady with a suitcase. I’m gonna allow it.
As a driver, and most other drivers, can relate to not having a clue of what most things mean on the roads
12 years no crash I think I’m doing alright.
Although I always thought I knew most of the rules, I still come across new things when questioning our guys about their systems It turns out that even us transport folk don’t know everything.
The evidence is there along with the reg no therefore forward it to the police who I’m sure will spring into action and issue a NIP
Given parking offences have long ceased to be a police matter but a local authority matter it’s a bit pointless doing this!
After many years of going to the same Pret where they know me, say hello, know my order, and have very little staff turnover, I have shuffled off to a new office at Liverpool St. and have to visit new Prets.
Much busier, never seems to be the same staff, inconsistent flat while making ability, and they seem to get a lot of orders wrong. Maybe it’s time to find a new work coffee shop.
That’s a shame - when I worked on Middlesex Street I used to go to the Pret next to Boots every day and they were super friendly and knew me.
Maybe I’ll take a wander over there. I’m over on the Moorgate side of Liverpool St.
If anyone wishes to have an update RE: parking there is currently a van that has just been ticketed at the same location, so the council were clearly on this thread
One of us (not me) is a snitch.
Snitches get stitches.
Is that still said?
Absolutely. Thank goodness it’s not me.
Twice you’ve said that now
