I fell for a scam on Facebook that was posing as my local bus company offering cheap travelcards. I filled in all my card details, including the expiry date and 3 numbers on the back. It just looked totally authentic, even the URL and everything. Once I pressed submit, I got a little pop up on the webpage saying something about a blacklist. Didnt manage to get a screenshot. Thats when i googled it and realised it was a scam, and immediately froze my Monzo card.
I cant seem to get through to any customer support at Monzo. On the phone, none of the options match my needs, and on the app it only offers help if you wish to query a specific transaction. But thankfully no payment has actually taken place since I froze the card. So Im not sure how else to talk to Monzo. I also ordered a new card, and the app says it will have the same exact details as the hacked oneâŠSurely i should be getting a new card number? Otherwise it can just get hacked again when I activate the new one, right?
