I got scammed yesterday by people that pretended to be Monzo. They took our £600 out my account. I reported it to monzo straight away and I have to wait 24 hours . Will they refund me my money back?
No one here can answer that question for you, I’m afraid. You will have to wait for the response from Monzo.

Just curious, how did they pretend to be Monzo. Was it a phone call or something along those lines?

They called me with the exact number like Monzo and they asked the same security questions that Monzo will ask you to go through your personal profile. From there they will ask you to stay on hold while getting ur profile up and the moment they get ur profile up they hang up the phone and you are logged out of your monzo app and money is gone .
The way they talk on the phone is so professional you wouldn’t think it’s a scammer.

I’m sorry to hear that this has happened to you - A Monzo colleague will never call you without pre-arranging it within the app first and giving you a heads up, in other situations if you are ever concerned why you have received a text or call from either us or someone pretending to be from Monzo I would highly recommend to put the phone down and call the number on the back of your card or contact us via the help chat on the app.

I have spoken to monzo about the case and they are looking into it right now. I just need my money back , it’s a lot for me to loose right now

Definitely it might help someone else. It is definitely a lesson learned because it was my first time to even receive a call like that.
Having the magic link is one thing, but I thought you needed to use your PIN to do a bank transfer. Did you tell them your card PIN too?

No because if that was the case I would have known it’s a scam

You definitely need your card pin + magic link to log into the app and your card pin to make a transfer (you can also use biometrics, but you need your card pin to set that up in the first place).
