My P8P has started getting really poor battery life. I find myself having to charge it after a gym session if I’ve been using it to listen to Youtube Music and tacking my workout with Hevy.
Although I’ll be getting an 11 anyway as my P8P is now very battered and scratched from being used protection-less
I bought a Pixel 10a a couple of months ago for £249 and I’m pretty impressed with what Android has become. I won’t be switching from iOS, though, as I’m too embedded in the ecosystem (and I’m OK with that).

You’ve got a huge pair to go b4reb4ck*. I’ve always protected phones as much as possible(without adding too much bulk). I recently switched from the second Bellroy leather case (good quality finish, but a bit slippery and the corners thin-out after 10 months) to a dbrand grip with the ‘touch grass’ skin. Let’s see how this lasts.
I imagine they’re WFH type of people who are tech support for multiple companies and just follow a rubric. Which is why I feel bad getting shirty, but it’s the only way to stop them spamming me with the same stock answer over and over again tbh.
I’ll only buy direct if the bribes are good otherwise like you I’ll go to JL. My preferred place to buy tech!
It’s the 10% store cashback that always gets me. I usually have a decent amount of store credit to use so end up buying from the store again, which in turn gives me more store credit towards the next purchase
Ha, I never use protection to be honest… I’ve always been safe. Only actually smashed one phone which was my Nexus 4. Was showing it to a friend and just let go of it. Not a slip or nudged and dropped it out of hand. Just literally let go of the phone and it was gone…
I’m the opposite. Had 2 iPhones over the years, never again.
When you look back years ago it used to be a thing where apps would only be on iOS first for a while (I think Monzo was like that). If you did that now you’d just look silly.
I really hope google ties FitBit, Fit, and Health connect into one coherent ecosystem tbh. I’d be surprised if they get rid of the brand completely for the hardware though.
Noticed over the weekend that the FitBit scales are listed on the google store again which they weren’t before.
I think Health Connect is by design an Android component that lives only on the phone and is not part of your Google account (its just a conduit for passing data between apps on the phone). So in my mind that needs to be kept separate.
But would be good if this new Google Health app replaced both the Fitbit app and Google Fit.
I think that used to be the case but I would say the gap is quite narrow, at least for popular apps.
I’ve been happily rocking my Pixel 9 Pro for just over 18 months now. Originally was thinking I would upgrade to the P11 Pro, but the new Oppo Find Ultra is also starting to tempt me, those cameras leave the iPhone and Pixel cameras for dust.
There’s a known bug with pixels, good news is it’s been graded P1/S1
But also you can get an official battery replacement for £40-50 from EE or ismash, EE may force you to reset your phone though even though there’s a repair mode.
All I want is Google to introduce a quicker way to get between cards. The loyalty cards and ticket system is better though imo

G works in mysterious ways. I got the new layout while I was in Mexico a few weeks ago, which was 10 days before the new layout announcement was released to the public domain!
