Just thought I’d post this as I have seen a few questions about credit ratings and Monzo being recognised as a “proper” bank.

I had a bit of a splurge this weekend and decided to get myself a shiny iPhone X and an Apple Watch with EE. I used my Monzo account for their various checking procedures, 3 of them. Talk about making sure I am who I say I am! Everything went swimmingly, the advisor was surprised as he’d never heard of Monzo and even said Starling customers have problems taking out new contracts with them.

I’m at the point now that I’ve just printed an account closure form for my legacy bank, I’ve no need to have it. Yay!

Virgin Media and Three also pass using Monzo

Tried using EE’s automated service to change my direct debit over to Monzo which it didn’t recognise but I was put through to an advisor who switched it over no problem. I actually haven’t had any problems switch all my payment over actually.
