No itching or scabbing now, tattooist is happy with how it set. Next ones booked for the next week
You will have more than me soon
Show us pics!
I didn’t want a tattoo but weirdly enough I do now. Where is this place?
Got my surname being tattooed this week, another small one.
After that will be either love or peace in big on the other forearm
You are soon going to have a tattoo list!
Mine is long… Not addicted I swear.
lol its a healthy addiction then i suppose.
I like the idea of having one line at a time, that way it gives me time to consider exactly what I want, having my name was a no-brainer for me anyways.
These days I’m always checking out other peoples tattoos lol
I’m fascinated, Simmy, why did you particularly choose your name?
My favourite ones are done by “scratchers” and the linework is shakey.
Not too sure really. I was going to get my initials “ss” but didn’t want to cause offence to anyone.
I thought it would look good and it turned out great
I have a few bite marks from mosquitos on one of my forearms would this affect the tattoo?
I’m planning my next one (once I get back from my holiday), that’ll be number 11…
I’ll ask my tattooist tomorrow whether he would do a job over some small bug bites ( in future ).
Update ; had my second tattoo and it went great, he said small bite marks are OK
The tattoo envy is real rn. I have a holiday so have to have a break.
How do people with massive sleeve/chest tattoos know what to get done? Do they let artists guide the whole thing? I love the ones where it’s a big mass of different images and styles that blends together nicely.
I got my wolf last year and would love something else on my upper arm but just can’t think what. I love mountain skylines. I love faeries and pixies. I love owls. I love dragons. I just can’t decide what to get done, and googling random tattoos doesnt’ clear it up. I think I said before but I’m almost tempted to say to an artist ‘Is there anything you really want to do?’ and see if she has ideas. But I also don’t know if that’s a bit weird.
You need more arms
I have a half sleeve that started with a small cover up (an old tattoo) for which I wanted a Daruma. Chatted to the artist, and agreed to expand it a little, then as we talked during the first session (about Japanese culture and ideologies etc) we ended up expanding it a little more… then more… so I now have a Lucky Cat (also the name of the tattoo parlour!), a Daruma, a Koi, a Lotus, a Kokeshi doll… ach here: http://www.gordonmclean.co.uk/2014/08/20/deconstructing-tattoo/
So I think if you have a rough sense of what you want, and know an artist whose style you think will ‘work’ then take in your ideas and influences and have a chat. It might take a little bit of work and back and forth but hopefully you end up with something you love!
I think it ALWAYS has to be a collaboration though, I’m lucky that the artists I’ve worked with are willing to discuss/change things. Have heard of people pressured into tattoos, or not thinking they can say no!
Kinda. Some people do patchwork and join it all together in the end. Some tell their artist they want a theme. Some tell them some ideas and run with it. One of my leg is themed and the other patchwork stuff.
I think I’m the opposite - I’m very open minded, I just can’t think of subjects. Mine is a geometric style and i keep looking at more in that style but i’m going to look daft if they’re all like that.
There’s one style a lot of people get on their upper chest/front of shoulder area, which i like a skyline with birds flying above it, I always love that.
Maybe not the time to get more then. I tend to ponder subjects on and off until something ‘sticks’, my last one was one of those.
Oh lord no, it took me a decade to decide on the geometic wolf as a design I loved, I genuinely don’t mind all that much. If I had to wait to find something I loved and wanted to copy i’d end up never getting another.
I tend to get a tattoo I only think about for a month if that. I love them all and don’t regret. However, it’s down to the person I think plus I book nearly a year in advance for my artists anyways.
