The S is fine if you care less about 4k bling. I have a friend wanting an X right now so if anyone spots a deal…

Game pass is really good for a bit of casual gaming, I know people who get cheap vouchers to cover their year and I know others who drop in/out of the monthly when they fancy something as well.
I dont like CoD multiplayer much now but I did enjoy the black ops 6 single player, I would never have bought CoD for £70 just to play single player but game pass has meant its not a problem.
Its also useful with the kids as my kids like indie games more than AAA and there is a ton of them.

The Series S? Just go for it. It’s a brilliant console, especially for that price. You won’t regret it.

Also a good choice for emulating retro consoles, if you are into that sort of thing.

I don’t have one as I’m exclusively PlayStation, but I have played with a Series S extensively.

Well yes, Xbox is definitely the lesser of the two ()… but both are brilliant, to be fair.

The PlayStation UI just updated some, I was confused at first but yeah.

So you missed one generation inbetween!

Have some death with a side order of death…

Also don’t like the death screen mocks you with the amount

Well, decided to risk it for MS Flight simulator 2024 - hoping the trashing it was getting for being a buggy POS was somewhat over the top.

Erm :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Anyone else got this still in alpha ā€œreleasedā€ game? I’m astounded anyone was allowed to sign it off.

I don’t mind the odd bug. I do mind it being completely unplayable. Freezing, not loading, buffering, etc etc.

I managed to finally get in. For now, hugely different to the previous msfs, overall an improvement but with a lot of bugs, but I’m sure bug fixes will resolve.

Lots of great positives. Being able to walk around the aircraft might seem obvious but for the old school flight simmers that’s totally revolutionary as is the proper career mode.

The fight models seem, well, dependant. In that it depends on what aircraft you have as to how realistic it’ll be. Much different to previous experiences and I’m hopeful of improvements to future versions.

I think I was ā€œluckyā€ yesterday. How this game got signed off for release astounds me.

In the last hour I’ve managed to:

  • get it to load once to the main screen
  • make a change to the control mapping
  • Select an aircraft

And that’s it. It’s not just a bit difficult or slightly glitchy, it is in a literal sense unplayable.

Constant crashes, freezing, getting stuck back on loading screens. I wouldn’t care normally but I’d put time aside to get going on it today and I’m provably just going to do something else.

I know change will come and hopefully more urgent bug fixes but at this stage if they pull it from the market I wouldn’t be surprised.

I think there was a bug fix released yesterday or the day before.

They released a fix to allow more access after day 1 issues I think.

But to give an example of today’s attempts.

  • 5 and a bit hours of being stuck at loading
  • One flight after 50 minutes of it constantly freezing
  • 4 attempts to get the ā€œcareer modeā€ to load
  • 0 success and I gave up

I suspect it’s part internet and part servers on their side, so hopefully they’ll fix this through scaling more out.

For what it’s worth for the one 30 minute session in about 6 hours of attempting it was better than previous in a number of different ways.

But that can only happen if it actually works.

Yes. I really enjoyed 2077. It does go on forever though, you best have lots of spare time. The sheer volume of content is impressive.

It was very buggy when it was first released but CDPR have resolved most issues.

Sadly, many people didn’t give it a second chance and passed judgement at release. Playing it now for the first time, with all issues fixed, is ideal. :slightly_smiling_face:

Played it twice on Stadia, which was the most reliable version by far.

Had to stick at it the first time. Second go was far more enjoyable. It’s a BIG game.

My top tip is that at some point in a side-quest you’ll be in a chase that goes a bit wrong and then someone called ā€˜Joshua’ will ask if you want to join him. Absolutely join him, it’s… an experience you don’t want to miss.

The whole game is outstanding, the side quests alone are so well thought through with great cyberpunk plot lines. Shame they released it unready or it would be considered one of the best games ever made imo.

Same. I’m also a completionist, so games tend to be even bigger for me. Every side quest etc.

Cyberpunk and Fallout 4 remain my favourites from the last decade.

I did too at the same time! But quickly got bored of it, man that was a slow game, felt like it sometimes took 20 minutes just to walk around the town and do a bit of shopping.

This sounds totally reasonable to me. You can only ever judge/review what’s put in front of you, not future potential.

It actually works for me as I usually buy my triple A games for under a tenner a year or two down the line.
