Friend not recognised as having Monzo

When a user fulfils a payment request using their Monzo account, the friend should show as a Monzo user.

I sent a request payment link to a friend. They clicked the link and entered their Monzo details. The app fails to identify the friend as a Monzo user and therefore doesn’t give me the UI benefits of a Monzo user. The pictures below illustrate the problem better.

Do they have payment with friends turned on?

I have also had this with my sister. I think it had something to do with the fact she changed her phone number after signing up with Monzo. I don’t think we ever got to the bottom of it
