So i’ve been using Flex for about two years, and i’ve made every payment. My TransUnion and Experian credit scores / report reflect this, but Equifax still has my score in the gutter (especially annoying since I believe Barclays financing uses this). Since June, I’ve asked three times why it’s not showing up, and when it will. Each time, i’ve been told that my payment reports will be sent to Equifax, and to wait 4-6 weeks. 6 weeks later, i ask again, only to be told that Monzo won’t report to Equifax.
So my questions; does anyone here have their Flex account show up on Equifax? Has anyone else had issues getting it on your report? And how could I have been - effectively - lied to by support on three separate occasions?
Bonus final question: any suggestions for a credit card which will actually build all my credit scores that I can switch to?
Any credit card you get accepted for will do this - there isn’t one that has any more impact than another. A regular card from a bank or long standing credit card provider will report to all 3. Credit builder cards just have lower acceptance criteria and higher interest rates, they don’t have any greater impact. Try a Barclaycard Forward credit card if you have poor credit and go from there.
Worth noting not all lenders report to all 3 agencies; some use only 1, others the 3 etc.
My Barclaycard was offered and accepted via Credit Karma which I think is TransUnion? So Barclaycard and co must use a variance of the three agencies to make a decision. It most likely won’t be the one sole agency holding you back.
You’d be better scoping your pre eligible options using ClearScore or Credit Karma, even the Experian app has pre eligibility checks.
the annoying thing is i do have great credit according to experian and transunion. i started using flex pretty much to get my scores up, which obviously it now won’t do for equifax. is there any way i can manually get my info through to equifax? force them and monzo to talk to each other?
Is there a particular reason why you’re tied to this and willing to jump through so many hoops to have them accept you? If your credit file is in good standing then there will be plenty of other lenders who will offer you a loan, possibly even at better rates and terms than what Barclays will offer you.
