Most large online stores (mine included) use either PayPal or Stripe to handle the bulk of their online payments, however as a customer using Monzo I’ve noticed statement descriptors/references are not displaying correctly in Monzo, despite being correctly formatted on Stripe.
For Monzo and the online stores, these confusing mis-labelled transactions could lead to chargebacks and extra customer service…
In particular, Stripe’s dynamic suffixes which it uses to create descriptors are ignored leaving an extremely short string of just 5-10 characters.
Are there any plans for Monzo to support Stripes descriptors better?
