Drinking from empty coffee cups et al - why oh why?

It’s time this was properly aired, even though it’s probably very divisive.

A - listers, Hollywood stars or actors in tv soaps…
The great pretence is that there’s actually coffee in those paper coffee cups. I mean, who ACTUALLY walks while drinking from one of those anyway (travel or sports mugs, maybe, but not the former).

Patently, there’s nothing in them. You’ve seen it - waving a so-called full cup around to make a point? Please!!

Putting said full cup down to the sound of an EMPTY cup.

The weird faces the perpetrators pull pretending to swallow imaginary liquids.

Oh, and while I’m at it, making a complete hash of smoking when you obviously have never smoked in your life (like Keri Russell in the Americans, for example).

I’m not expecting any replies (but if anyone has thoughts or other examples which irritate, feel free).

Have a great weekend.

Going on holiday/storming out of the house with a patently empty suitcase is one of mine. Either put some bricks in it or learn to mine properly!

Waking up in the morning with perfectly applied make up and perfect hair.
Showing a woman without make up isn’t a crime :rage:

And, perish the thought - the wake-up kiss…really?

When they get adults to play teenagers, so we never truly see those really awkward teenage years onscreen. In that same vein, you get absolutely gorgeous actors playing “nerds” and they simply ~transform~ into the queen bee of the school by simply removing their glasses and changing their outfit. Hollywood, please!

The truly unacceptable crime right here.

I hate this so much! I mean, how the flip are we supposed to know that a character is supposed be 16 when the actor is in their late 20’s/early 30’s?!?!? It’s bloody confusing!

It implies people with glasses can’t ever be hot

I was convinced people in America were just more mature and had their shit together even at high school just from movies with glamorous hair, makeup, and daily outfit changes.
I had a school uniform and unforgiving glasses. I’m glad social media wasn’t around much then, or I would have more documented proof of my awkwardness.
