When you purchase with a Monzo debit card do you get the same purchasing protection that you get with a credit card?

Not exactly.

You’re probably referring to Section 75 protection which is the one for credit cards.

Any fraudulent charges though, for which you’re not at fault, you’ll be protected for. Plus you’re in some way protected from dodgy sellers with the chargeback mechanism.
