Is it the case that direct debits for utility bills aren’t taken at weekends? If so, why? Thanks
They are not taken as Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays are not a banking work day.

Because we’ve always done it this way. (I know that’s a crap answer but i don’t think there’s any other reason these days.)
