Desktop version of the Monzo app (full feature Monzo Web)

Do you think transfers is something you guys would consider adding in the future?

@chistery other than that aspect, im more than happy with monzo.

Iā€™ve not heard anything about this internally. Iā€™m not in the team that would make a decision or even build this, so honestly, I donā€™t know.

Correct me if I am wrong, but arenā€™t the likes of Monzo, Starling, etc app based in order to get away from having to use a computer?
I for one can honestly say that I have never missed not being able to access the accounts via computer.
Even with my mainstream accounts (Nationwide) I tend to use the app 99% of the time.

This is more important than Monzo are giving it credit for.

What happens when my phone is lost, stolen or damaged? Iā€™d be without a smartphone for a few days until my insurance replaced it, or for a few weeks if I had to wait for a warranty repair. Iā€™d have to grab something basic for a tenner to make do for calls/texts. No Monzo on that.

Am I really expected to use Monzo as my main bank account when thereā€™s a legitimate possibility that I will not be able to use it for the basics if Iā€™m parted from a device that leaves the house regularly, is relatively easy to break, and is an obvious target for theft?

ā€œFull-featureā€ is probably a bit extreme. If I have to use the web app, it wonā€™t be because I want to manage my budget, review stats, etc, but feature parity with the big banks (transfers out, between Pots, etc) is really a must for going ā€œfull Monzoā€

I think what youā€™re asking for is moneydashboard.com which is a budgeting web application that allows you to pull all of your Monzo (and other accounts) into one dashboard - Allowing granulised view of your accounts / spending.

Hope this helps,
Sean

Patiently waiting for this feature, more use cases pop up every day, It would be really great if the Monzo team can provide an update on it @Rat_au_van.

Starling are doing this really well for Business accounts, but also working on a personal version. Iā€™d be really disappointed to see Monzo not take this seriously.

Itā€™s on the roadmap for business accounts. I donā€™t think theyā€™d consider it for personal accounts until they see how that goes.

Basically there wonā€™t be an update as thereā€™s nothing to update people on yet, not even heard any very vague whispers

Thanks for the quick response. What about business accounts? thatā€™s been ā€œcoming soonā€ for a while nowā€¦

A business account update would be good

I shall try and find someone to ask nicely

YNAB replacement within Monzo would be brilliant!

Yeah, and for only Ā£10 a month too? Perfect.

Monzo is me the to be full mobile and it is I like to see an iPad version of the app and a web based monzo login they may be case where letā€™s say you lose your phone and you have access to the web or maybe the older generations would like this as well to appeal to as manny people as possible.

Mobile does not mean native app. Web apps are also a thing and work very well on mobile. Web apps should work on both mobile and desktop, if they are designed that way (which is the recommended thing).
Having one app that works everywhere in exactly the same way is surely compelling for a lot of reasons, not least it should reduce the development costs.

This is helpful but really is only for emergencies if you lost your phone say. Itā€™s good they made it and thought about it but still I would also like to see and iPad version first

At a simple technical level, yeah, but Iā€™m wondering if there are limitations on security and performance that mean apps are preferred. Certainly on Apple Iā€™d only use an app and not a ā€˜web basedā€™ system (unless Iā€™ve missed something, Iā€™ve not seen any web based system use biometrics of any kind??

ā€¦if youā€™ve used your app in the last 90 days.

You just repeated exactly what I said

I think the fact that all (other) banks use web sites/apps means it isnā€™t a security issue, unless it is a vulnerability specific to phonesā€¦and biometrics are more of a convenience. Iā€™ve not seen any web apps use biometrics either, fwiw, though there are several hits from a web search that indicate there are solutions.

I donā€™t think performance would pose any problem, since such an app is almost all UI based - performance is usually an issue with things like graphics/etc, but not just simple user interfaces.
