I am not sure if this is a bug, or if working as intended:
Payments don’t recognise which account you are in. For example, if I click on my joint account and then hit ‘Payments’, it will still send the payment from my personal account by default, even though I was in the joint account when I hit the Payments icon.
I believe the payment always defaults to the last account you made a payment from - but this doesn’t make sense if you are viewing a specific account when you hit Payments.
Details to reproduce:
Click on the joint account card to see joint account details.
Hit Payments
The account at the top of the Payments screen will be Personal, not Joint.
There was discussion about this just a few days ago on the forum - unfortunately I can’t remember which thread it was in.
Opinion was split between those of us who think the behaviour should be to take the account you’re in as the default source account for the funds, and others who think it’s fine as it is.
It’s been mentioned elsewhere a few times too.
A +1 from me but I can’t see it changing, unfortunately.
I did try to find it in the forum, but none of the search terms I conjured up led me there. It’s not a showstopper, but I often make payments from the wrong account as, if I am actively in the joint account, I expect that to be the one the payment will come from. That’s how it worked at my ‘legacy’ bank.
It definitely used to change, pre-app-redesign. Whichever account feed you were most recently in, the transfers page would match, until you switched again.
Now it just seems to remain until you manually change it, I couldn’t seem to get it to switch another way.
