Declined recurring payment

My recurring payment through Epoch payment has been declined and I don’t have this on my transaction or got a notification. I only found out after my subscription was cancelled and Monzo are saying it got declined cuz I didn’t approve it? But I already approved it when I subscribed first.

This could be how Epoch process their payments, not via continuous payment authority but some other method which prompts access each time for security.

You’d need to discuss that with them, or ask how else you can pay ie direct debit/standing order.

I never had this issue with HSBC or other credit cards though.

Do you also pay Epoch with these banks?

They might not have set it up to be recurring officially and do it manually themselves. So now it needs approval each time.

Other banks might not have this issue yet but they will when they catch up and apply the rules correctly.
