I’m not sure why you’re replying to me, or bringing the value of Plus discussion into one about debit card designs?
That being said… If you’re trying to justify the cost of Plus purely on seeing your credit score in app and are ignoring everything else then of course it won’t be worthwhile.
Sure if you want to put a monetary value on it. But for me and many many others the features offer value in itself.
For example customs categories allow you to budget more accurately so you can save money that way.
Virtual cards give you peace of mind and added account security which is valuable. Especially since you don’t need to update every online store when you replace your card. So that saves time which is valuable.
I could go on…
If you don’t see value in it then that’s fine. I wouldn’t however expect a bank to pay me more money in interest than it charges in the first place - that’s nonsensical for a business.

When it comes to renewing or replacing your card you’re given the option of which one you’d like. This would be the point in which you’d switch.
Customer support just confirmed that I can order a NEW coral card, but can not re-activate my old one

Not surprising.
I can’t think of any bank that allows you to reactivate cancelled cards - it would be a security risk if employees had the ability to do that; a rogue employee could theoretically re-activate a stolen card and then use the details to buy things online, at the expense of the bank/customer!
Once a card is cancelled, for whatever reason, it’s cancelled (with the possible caveat of Continuous Payment Authorities in certain circumstances).

But it was a chance to find out, could a same customer to connect same card to the same bank account using it’s login to the app

True, but a very sophisticated attack would be theoretically possible if it also involved social engineering of the customer.
I suspect that’s why Monzo cannot allow it - better to simply not have the facility, than allow it to be open to abuse.
I understand it’s disappointing in your situation where it might make sense but most of the time it wouldn’t.
Or even a criminal who stole the card/details in the first place as some of the criminals these days could manipulate the bank workers into thinking it’s the real person and unblock it leaving everyone in the
Exactly, probably posing as someone who had lost their phone or had it stolen (the irony) so couldn’t access the app!
You can’t be too careful with these things.
Get a Plus account and you get a blue card so coral is only part of the brand.
