Cyberpunk 2077

I’m bucking the trend here and playing it on Stadia (took advantage of the free controller and Chromecast deal!)

Very impressed with how well it runs streaming and the visuals are amazing. Only a couple of hours in so far.

Yeah, I’ve got those reservations. But for £50 quid I thought I’d try it (plus I’ve free Stadia subscription till march as I got a Pixel phone)

This is how my settings look. Getting between 45 - 55 fps. Might go down to 1080p to get above 60 but looks and plays smooth enough now. I also run EVGA Precision with 120% power target. You should definitely be getting better performance on a 1080TI… I asume you got the latest nvidia drivers etc?

here are some tips from reddit community too:

It’s been a while since I’ve played an open world game, let alone one so rich with options.

I’m really struggling to be tactical with the missions and end up in s fire fight each time. I wish I was more stealthy! Any tips?

The main thing is to look out for the cameras and disable them before you engage any enemies --they can use them too and net runners can hack you through them.

You’ll also want to take on side missions to earn cash to upgrade your OS to something with more RAM. It’ll make the hacking part easier. Chasing down the hacked taxis is quite a good earner and is pretty easy for the most part.

Hot take: this game should not have come out on PS4 and Xbox One at all. It’s a next gen game and releasing it on all platforms causes issues such as this.

This game shouldn’t have been released at all in my opinion. It looks like they messed up by giving too short deadlines and missing so many that they backed themselves into a corner.

Showing a game trailer for last-gen consoles is just :see_no_evil: What did they expect to happen? Nobody to notice?

They didn’t show one for last gen, thats the issue with a lot of people. They could not make an informed decision and actually it strays into false advertising.

I have a 1080ti too and I’m running at 45-60 fps on high settings, 1440p resolution.

I think the game is good. The storylines are brilliant and I love the aesthetic of night city. I’m a big fan of Cyberpunk in general and I love how they’ve integrated cyberdecks, hacking and netrunning into the gameplay. On PC I’ve had a few bugs, but not enough to impact the gameplay significantly.

GTAV never had these issues on Xbox 360 and PS3 with it being a next gen game but neither console was out when it was released and the PC version was very late.

I too belive they should not have released on 7 year old consoles.
Or at least made it clear of the limitations, 720p, 30FPS etc. It definitely devalues their product and brings them to par with other “big dev marketing tricks”.

If Witcher 3 is anything to follow this game will have patches and content coming for it throughout the next year or 2.
Wonder why they did not follow Rockstars method and just released on PC and then 2 years down the line on consoles etc?

Actually it did, but at the time we were accustomed to games playing at around 25-30fps at the most.

The DigitalFoundry analysis of the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions did mention that. Sure enough, GTA5 on the PS3 was sub-30fps most of the time.

On a lighter note, has anyone found GlaDOS yet?

Oh, these spoilers…:scream: I’m still hanging in there refusing to start playing it until Xmas day. But with clever references to stuff to find, the temptation is increasingly strong.

Just trying to talk myself out of buying it on Stadia. I’ll see how long I last!

Wow, the offer of a free Stadia Controller/Chromecast Ultra offer with a Cyberpunk purchase was supposed to run until 18-Dec, but it’s been stopped earlier today in all countries

“Hey everyone, due to the overwhelmingly positive reception, we’ve now closed the Cyberpunk 2077 promotion in all countries. If you placed an order before 4 PM PT on December 13, you are eligible for the promotion and will receive a code within 7 days to redeem your Premiere Edition. Thank you all for the support and hope you all are enjoying Night City!”

Phew, mine was processed and arrives on Wednesday.

Amazingly, I even got Google Store credit of £9.00 on the Premier Edition ‘purchase’ which was shown at £89.99 but then discounted to £0.00, so they gave me a controller, a chromecast Ultra and £9 because I purchased CP2077 on Stadia. Desperation?

Just finishing my installation now. Is it best to keep a controller connected for the car driving parts ? ( Playing on PC )

Definitely. Driving with a keyboard & mouse is challenging. I just keep it on my lap ready for when I need to travel.

Mine came on Saturday, I’ve 3 controllers now, 2 white from premier editions and a black one I was able to get for £28 deilvered on FB marketplace. I don’t need any more but would like the wasabi one!!

I’ve got one chromecast ultra running over ethernet and one on WiFi, finding that Cyberpuk runs well on both for me.

I’m not getting 4k over WiFi with Stadia - might have to see if I can get an ethernet wire into it to improve the visuals.

Not that they’re bad at all.

Playing on high settings at 1080p. Excellent game, very impressed.
