Getting fed up of this now. Some deliveries coming next day and some I’m waiting weeks for
Hope we can get back to normal soon
Plus it’s bank holiday, again, how many bank holidays do we need ?
I understand it’s affecting us all in different ways

Just the same amount of bank holidays as always, those of us working are still grateful for them as we need time off away from work, well that’s for those of us not having to work today
I’ve found with Royal Mail if it’s a letter it’ll typically arrive in the normal amount of time. If it’s a parcel, well good luck.
More of them. My workload has definitely increased since the start of the lockdown so personally I’m so grateful for the extra day off this weekend to recharge.
‘Normal’ is a long way off. Until we have treatment to prevent hospitalisations or a vaccine then life is going to continue to be restricted. I don’t want to sound all doom and gloom, but you do need to be prepared for this to go on a lot longer.
Royal Mail have been excellent for me, which I’m thankful for. Even Parcels coming very quickly
Thanks for the insight regarding bank holidays. I just get really apprehensive waiting for things
Me too. But I’ve had an email pertaining to a magazine subscription which says that RM will no longer deliver magazines on a Saturday.
RM no longer deliver letters on a Saturday they are looking to start delivering them from 13th June, they will deliver parcels on a Saturday but letters are out until then
It’s quite decent code, although I’m not sure how much is generated by Firebase and how much is hand written.
One thing that sticks out is how the android app scans constantly with 1 second sleeps to try to give you some battery life, but because an iOS device can’t do that if it sees an anonymous beacon from any iOS device it tries to connect to it to find out if it’s running the app (which would presumably wake it up). So if you’re in a room with 10 iphones your android phone will be connecting to all of them every second or so trying to wake them up, whether they’re running the app or not…
In a room with only iphones none of this would work at all.
It’s a ‘solution’ of sorts but still seems rather a waste when there’s a working API waiting to be used.
Are you joking ? Because it’s not funny and you need to get your priorities straight.
I am a little frustrated at times as well that things are taking longer to arrive, however look at what’s happening be a bit more considerate.
Also what is wrong with a bank holiday ?
Edit: If you’re going to be “fed up” about anything, you should be fed up about the people who aren’t social distancing.
That is true, I do not deny that and i might have been a bit harsh - but I’m just going buy the stuff he says he’s bought in others posts on the forum and thats what I’m going by.
Either way, its tough times for all, even if you rely on deliveries, you should have the consideration that “normal” is not going to be the case for a while and even/when things start to resume, it wont be the normal we know.
Don’t engage, if you check his posting history it tells your everything you need to know
Personally wouldn’t describe any of those as significant.
The personal information comes down to a pseudonomised number which in theory could be traced back to an individual but assurances have been given that this won’t happen and processes put in place to assure it.
The legal flaws are nit picking in a document that has had to be written fairly quickly and while it might need amending it doesn’t really change the substance.
Government appear to be junking “Stay Home - Save Lives” for “Stay Alert - Save Lives.”
How the frig are we supposed to ‘stay alert’ to a virus that can spread asymptomatically?
Hawks are screwing the pooch for everyone
It’s ridiculous!
We’re sticking with the Stay Home- Save Lives message here in Scotland. I’d much rather stay in lockdown for longer if it meant beating the virus quicker!
Same here in Wales too — Westminster need to make it clear they aren’t speaking for the whole of the UK.
Keep your eyes open for large virus particles approaching
And when you spot them, wrestle them to the ground like a man!
Why didn’t you put ‘obey the rules’ on the poster then?!
‘Stay Alert’ doesn’t mean obey the rules, it means… stay alert.
Stay at home was a simple message. What does this new one even mean, really? I’m going to have massive barbecue on the beach with 100 of my friends but I’m ‘alert’ so that’s perfectly OK?
