I always forget about M&S.
There’s also 10% back at UNIQLO.
A trip to town tomorrow it is.
Fat Face T shirts are not cheap but very good value and I like the styles they have. White Stuff do some nice shirts. Both will accommodate my belly but I can’t say they actually hide it. As I have very little chest or backside, but a very 3 dimensional middle that would be tricky anyway.
I have a very large left calf (old break in the right ankle, plus major stomach surgery buggering my core muscles) but Levi’s supply styles of chinos, jeans and dungarees that accommodate it.
Haven’t worn a suit except for a couple of funerals since Covid and I might struggle to buy one that fits now.
Underpinnings, traditional style from M and S as I’m 60 so go for comfort not fashion.
Early 60s, 5 foot 11, a touch under 13 stone.
Amusingly I had to substitute ‘backside’ for a shorter 3 letter word beginning with b and ending with um, because that word wasn’t allowed.
Yet the filter was fine with the longer word beginning with b and ending with uggering.
Next for me, I find the stuff fits well, good quality, and the guy delivers it the next day. Easy to return to the shop.
They also offer pay in 3. Full disclosure my 40’s are a long way in the rear view mirror lol
I’ve seen some good ones on Fat Face, my issue is I radiate heat like something else, so anything cooling is ideal.
Some M&S ones come up reasonably priced, will swing by Next too, had some good stuff from there over the years.
+1 for this. It’s an ideal brand for an older person.
Sounds counterintuitive but try M and S mesh vests under your shirt or T shirt. An extra layer but stops your shirt sticking to you and lets your body breathe, keeps you comfortable even when it’s hot.
For that one guy on this forum also living in Asia, where do you buy clothes and shoes? Finding shoe sizes above 12 here for shoes is grim and I’m unfortunately in that boat
Another vote for M&S Autograph range for staples. But I would say try them in store the sizing can be hit and miss and the cuts vary across colours in the same style. Also find the under wear a of a miss.
But also dressing for your age is overated, I still largely dress the same and in the same kind of brands I did in my 20’s
In terms of brands I favour: By Parra*, Parlez*, Poetic Collective, Obey, Edwin*, Lacoste, Pawa, Dickies, Deus Ex Machina, Peace Collective, This is never that* and Stan Ray*
I’d say having a little pot belly of my own By Parra, Parlez and Edwin have good cuts. But also Deus Ex Machina does boxy fit and oversize fits that are good for hiding a pot. M&S’s regular fit is also good.
*These are my favourites
Urban industry and Flatspot are good places to get stuff from and often have stuff on sale.
Urban industry I’ve been shopping with since they first launched in 2002 and they are fantastic in terms of customer service and if you need info about fits/cuts etc.
(is it obvious I’m not super busy this morning by any chance…?)
Some nice stuff here, I like the Pawa branding.
You might appreciate Uniqlo’s Airism undershirts.
10% back on Monzo too, so quite the cashback ~£15-25 a tee.
I’ve always found George to be good value. The supima cotton t shirts are really good value.
Tried M&S but couldn’t find the lower priced tees and wasn’t paying £30 a pop.
went to UNIQLO, picked up 3 Airism and 2 standard crew neck for £89.90, with £10 off for being a new app customer and then 10% cashback.
~£80 for 5 tees isn’t bad.
M&S have a 50% sale at the moment
Not in mine they weren’t ![]()

White, some kinda dark grey and then a dark blue.

White and black for these.
Yes I am dull and no I don’t like colour (much).
