Hey,

I’d recommend talking to Monzo first, before opening an account! Contact them at hello@monzo.com.

Great do they reply quickly as I need this by Monday

No, you won’t get a reply by Monday.

Which marker do you have? If it’s 6, they won’t give you an account.

You could just try applying

Wouldn’t it hurt the credit profile even more if Monzo rejected the application?

To the OP: have you looked into getting a Basic Bank Account from likes of HSBC? You won’t get credit facilities but they may be a good option.

No, it’s a soft check to open an account, only a hard check if they apply for an overdraft

With a cifas market I doubt you could hurt a credit file more

Ah fair enough… apply away, in that case!

Nobody knows.

Either email Monzo and wait a few days to see if they reply telling you they will assess on application or apply now. You could have had a decision by now

This

Monzo always advise to just apply and they’ll do all the necessary checks. Good luck :crossed_fingers:

I have applied and it says 48 hours so fingers crossed

HSBC isn’t Bank of Scotland. That’s Halifax.

Good luck to you, and hopefully no more pesky fraud on your account🤞

Let us know what happens

Obviously i’d recommend Monzo here on the forums, but try Starling as well

Hsbc won’t accept me if bank of Scotland won’t
