I’m still waiting for the update. App is up to date and still check most days but still noting.
Ive paid 2 cheques into my other current account and transferred once cleared since this was announced and will have another cheque at the weekend. Would be good to get it and test it out.
If everything continues to go smoothly, we should be at 100% rollout in the next couple of weeks .

I also love that this was the only post OP ever made Monzo should email him specifically to let him know that his wish was granted almost a decade later
I’ve just gone back to the OP’s post and checked his profile.
Less than 1m readtime on just the first day he registered.
He appears to have lost interest in his own question pretty quickly.
I hope nothing happened to him and he’s okay
I genuinely never thought I’d use this feature for a long time yet but lo and behold my energy company for some reason have sent me a refund via a cheque. I’ve used the flow and it was easy and well explained. The example photos were helpful. I’ve now got a pending payment showing in 3 days. Great job Monzo.
I have got access today and used to for my premium bond cheque. So far so good
I seen it mentioned today in the Changelog on the Google Play Store. Hopefully a full roll out coming.

I’m excited to announce that all Monzo customers can now deposit cheques using the Monzo app! Thank you for being patient as we slowly rolled out the feature . We were able to make a number of improvements to the feature during the slow rollout, including improving our image acceptance rate and updating our guidance to help customers take photos of their cheques .
As always, our aim is to design features that are intuitive to use. But I wanted to include a “How it works” section here just in case:
- Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of the Monzo app.
- You can deposit a cheque by tapping “+ Add Money”, then Tap “Other ways to add money”, then follow the instructions under the “Cheques” option.
- Take a photo of the front and back of your cheque; make sure you:
- Place the cheque on a dark background
- Hold your phone directly above, position the cheque inside the camera frame.
- All 4 corners of the cheque are visible in the frame and it’s easy to read
- Select the account where you want the money to be paid into and the amount of the cheque
- Tap “Pay in cheque” to submit your cheque
- In the meantime hold onto the physical cheque until the money appears in your account, just in case we run into any issues
- Check out your activity feed to find out the latest status of your cheque
